Default Fromeco - kiwi or arizona

I'm looking for a new reg for the 600n.

600n basic / v-bar / 9452's / evolite 2s2500's / ys50 / ar7000

I have the older align 2 in 1 modded for vibration. It has over 100 flights on it now and i didn't trust the $0.02 swtich on the remote board , it was getting a bit looser than i recall.

Anyways i took it off and took it apart to see how it was wearing. It looked good by the way.

So i'm looking for a reg now , wanting the failsafe switch (fails on). What are the differences or benifits between the kiwi and arizona ?

Any other suggestions ? I would put a ar7100r in there but i can't run the 9452's on 8 volts.

Thanks , martin

I have the Airzona and is perfect. Runs cyclic and thorttle at 6.0 and gyro/servo at 5.0 the Kiwi is better suited for 2s battery 8. volt setup .

+1 for the arizona. You can get the pin flag switch for it (its like 7 bucks as I recall) and its a switch that fails in the on position if it were to fail. Otherwise you can run it without a switch and the only way to power it down is to unplug the battery. Plus the Pin flag has a cool red ribbon that says "Danger remove before flight" on it

Both the Kiwi and Arizona support the pin flag. The biggest difference is:

Arizona = Has a regulated 5 volt channel for your Gyro + a regulated (adjustable) 5-6 volt channel for your RX.

Kiwi = 4 Channels. Each channel can be either used as Regulated 5 Volt or pass through Battery Voltage.

In my case I run the output from my RX for my 3 Cyclics to the Kiwi (which is getting input from the RX regulated 5 volts) and passes through to the Cyclics at un-regulated Battery Voltage. The fourth channel is used similarly but from my Governor to Kiwi to Throttle servo. (cyclics and throttle are 8717s)

Basically what I found is this... if you don't want the higher voltage (typically considered 8 volt) cyclic setup and are happy with 6 volt for your cyclics get the Arizona. If you are conisdering a High Voltage Cyclic setup, get the Kiwi.

Just know with the Kiwi you WON'T have the option of running a 6 or 6.8 volt Cyclic setup like you could with the Arizona, Reactor-X or Perfect Regulators etc.

Since you have the 9452's, may as well get the Arizona because I don't think they can handle 8v. If you go 8717's then go for the Kiwi Nuclear Power Plant. Just make sure you wear hockey gear when you fly. I do.

The Fromeco Sahara is a nice regulator. You can set the voltages were you want them up to about 6 point something. And you can set the amperage to 3, 6 or 9. I got one on my gasser.
