I'd recommend against alumuinum mounts. I switched my Trex aluminum mounts for plastics. The metal mount would break the frame instead of itself.

I use a frame cross brace for my canopy posts (trex line) , the protos has the posts into some meat already (smart well thought out).

OK so why do you wish to have metal posts for your canopy? I don't think the strength is needed there. No weight or torque to speak of. Generally folks upgrade to plastic on canopy mounts. (or use plastic screws that may even be cut to allow a quick break in a crash.)
