I've built my first 7S pack for my Heli.
I was wondering if there is anyway to test it out before I actually fly it to make sure everything will work well at high current? |

Just run it on the ground without the main blades on it. It will draw enough amps to get a clue of how it's going to be. Then charge it up and see what went back into it. You should also balance or check each cell voltage to see how well the pack discharges.
That would be the simplest way. Tom |

Without the main blades on the amps will be nothing compared to actually flying...

I guess I forgot to add get some head loaders. My bad! They look like wiffel balls on the end of arms that you bolt on instead of blades to mimic the load. I had a set loaned to me way back when.
You prolly just need to charge the pack up and take it for a short timed flight. Charge and guesstimate how much longer you can fly by what the charge adds back in and just fly some more. Tom |

Lipo's and A123 are both high current so your question is a bit of a dead end without more info. |

Truth is, 9 packs into my A123 habit I've never tested any of them. The wires I've used are as high or higher rated than the wires in my ESC. My solder joints are good.
Do you have a spare receiver pack. I would suggest just go out and fly, but possibly use a receiver pack so that if your main pack fails you don't lose control. To some extent you can also get a high current draw by leaving the helicopter on the ground, using blades + negative cyclic. |
