Here is the flight data logging results from Mizark flying his Lepton on 4S
It's a Scoprion 3026-1000kv motor on a 21T pinion (20T would be kinder but 21T gives a hot headpspeed) Align 60 amp ESC Outrage 4S 3700mah battery 425 blades Model weight approx 1700 grams The 500 class has peek power in the range of 900 to 1250 watts on tap You can see the flight started out with a headspeed of 3,219 rpm That would only last for approx 30 seconds however After that he's doing 2,700 to 2,900 with some dips to 2,500 It was a difficult windy day and he did get into a difficult bog situation that sunk the headspeed all the way down to 2,135  The average C discharge rate is on the high side at almost 12C I'm sure Mizark has achieved over 80 flights on these cells however The Lepton and Protos have high gearing which is tough on the battery A 4S 4200mah battery would reduce this to 10C with a slight impact on collective pop You can see the motor efficiency is fairly low Maybe this is because the 500 class is driving the battery rather hard? ![]() I'll get video of Mark throwing the Lepton around - it's very agile We're using the Sab Red Devil 425 blades - they fly very nicely

Appreciate the info, look forward to vid. Can you get info on the 1210kv on 4s at all, the comparison would be interesting.

Yes, once I rebuild my Lepton I will data log it for sure
I run the 1210kv motor on 4S with a 16T pinion The battery does come down cooler

Mine's rebuilt now and have trimed it in yest, and today tried out the new Hyperion 4s 3300mAH 35C packs today. The day after I got them a few weeks ago I crashed bad and have been hanging out to try them. Anyhow the old packs gave a stationary HS of 2800 at 100% and the new packs gave a stationary HS of 3400 at 90%, no bogging and came down just barely warm. I'm on my own out here, with the heli that is, and would like to know what the HS is in the air, it feels a bit too fast, maybe it's cause I havn't flown for a while, I'll see what it is when/if I land tomorrow. I'm certainly glad I stuck with 4s and got these new packs, especially if they last 4 times as long like they state. It'll be good to see how efficient the 1210kv is compared to the 1000kv.

Have a think about getting an EagleTree V3 data logger and the brushless motor RPM gadget
(they also have a motor temp sensor and simple temp sensors for battery and esc) You use that to log the data and get it into the computer and save to a file My HobbyCentral program can load that file and produce the results below 3400 is right out there! The packs wont last four times longer in the Lepton, the average C discharge rate is too high, you need to get it below 10C The Hyperion batteries have always been of good quality for sure 3700mah capacity would give better flight time Efficiency is more a factor of the motor - not the battery And it's not that important - average discharge rate is king
