Almost. The skulls are a mixture of a bought stencil, some home made stencils from some sketches and a bit of freehand. On closer inspection youwill also notice a few animal skulls and an odd dinosaur one. The idea was to make them at first appear like carbon fibre like my TRex 450 canopy (which is real carbon weave).

First, dayglow green is sprayed over a white primer. The top half is masked off and silver is sprayed on the bottom half. The skulls are laid out lightly using the above stencils with matte black. Over the top then is a candy "smoke". If you ever see this heli in person, as you look directly at the surface you can easily make out the detail, but towards the side of your view, the design gradually fogs out as the candy refracts the light.

The pilot's name was applied with a 2 part laser cut stencil I had cut by Belair. This was sprayed in black before a few white highlights/hotspots were added.

Glad you like it

Default 123mvd321 and Dauste

Thats FREAKIN SWEET 123mvd321 probably the best I have seen. I don't know how all of you guys do it but your seriously talented beyond my understanding. Everyone keep it up, and some of you need to be paid for this for real. Dauste that x-cell canopy really kicks a** the two of yours have a different look and stands out in my eyes. Much Respect. One thing I have not seen is that technique where you spritz water from a pray bottle lightly over the canopy, paint over the water droplets then dry with a hair dryer or something like that. In the end it makes the canopy look as if there are colored water drops in the paint job. I have seen this on television being done to hockey goalie masks.

Here is my first try at painting a canopy!

Just kidding, I had them done by Insane Canopies. I like the way they came out even if they weren't exactly what I thought they would be.

After buying them I have done a lot of reading and would like to try my own, that few hundred could've bought me some nice supplies!

Here they are.....
