I have always been wondering what all the hype has been about with regards to this starter. It certainly looks very interesting...that battery compartment looks nifty.

I'm probably not the first person to say this, but I don't get it!

It's just a starter with a voltwatch and battery bay built in to it. If you're running lithium packs, they're good for about 6 months of flying anyway, so who really needs a voltwatch?

I just feel like $120 for a starter that has a couple relatively useless gadgets built into it isn't worth it. Maybe I'm missing the bigger picture? I dunno. It's just a starter..

depends on the price... if i can get my mits on one for around $100 ill get one. I think 120 is a bit steep

$120 is a bit steep, particularly if it doesn't come with a battery. You could buy a normal gear-reduction starter and strap a 3 or 4s pack to it for cheaper than that I'd imagine.

On the other hand, it looks pretty sharp and the case and wand are nice touches. The battery monitor would be useful just as a quick glance to make sure you got juice so that's ok.

I spent way too much money on my Dynatron, Finer Edge adapter, and Makita packs though to give up the setup I have.

Looks like a very nice clean starter no wires hanging around all one unit and like he said on youtube comments it might be selling for a little less then 120.00

I like it, I want it. It's clean, compact, easy to use. No frankencobbled Mostrosity the size of a food processor like some I have seen. I can't say I like not having a battery that comes with it, but I have a few tired 3 cell packs doing nothing that would now have a use.

The question I have is, when he talks about how many starts you can get on a 90 and a 50, is he talking about how many on a single battery charge, or the life expectancy of the starter itself? I know, kind of a dumb question, but I have to ask.

Its a nice piece of kit.
I would consider it if I didnt already have a finer edge / makita setup.

Really? 850 starts on a 50 size helicopter per charge? I'd be happy with 50 starts per charge. Whatever, I still want one. Any idea what online shops will carry it?
