Default High pitched whine

This evening while flying my 600NP was making a high pitched, dull whining sound. I think it may have been there all along and my ear is just becoming more discriminating, but I thought I would ask about it. It is barely audible while spooling up, and once airborne you can't really hear it facing the left side of the heli and it's loudest when facing the right side of the heli. Here's how I would best describe it: 75% of the noise from engine, 15% from the blades, and the remaining 10% this high pitched deal.

Normal? I'm halfway through my 4th gallon of 30% Wildcat CY Performance and the engine had 2-3 gallons run though it when I bought it in May. Power and performance are great.

EDIT: There were some plankers at the field and they all said myOS 50 sounded fantastic, but there weren't any heli guys around. I was wondering if a torque tube bearing or something like that might be going out or need lube.

I think the sound you are describing must be normal bacause I get/had a similar sound on mine before I crashed it. I would have described the sound as more of a whistle though.

I am running in my new os50 today so if it is the same I will let you know.

Probably gear noise that you are hearing.
It would be getting swamped out when you are looking at the left hand side of the heli.

... Mick: I've never paid attention to your signature before!

Sp1nner: you're right, more of a whistle.

Once you get a little older it will become apparent what it is.
