How old is your heli kit? There were blade tracking issues with the first version of the head almost two years ago. Best, Frank |

Hi,
The new Protos main blade grips are for 10 mm blade roots. The SABs have a 9 mm root, hence the plastic spacers that come with the SABs. If you mount 9 mm blades without spacers, you will never get the tracking right. Do you know the roots of your other blades? Hope that helps. Best, Frank |

I am assuming he has the 10mm grips with the Radix as they need no spacers.
I would do a few things, -Check spindle straightness by rolling on glass -Make sure your dampers are lubed -Remove the blades and check both grips are the same angle at center, high and low collectives. -Make sure you have power but throttle hold. Have both blades on and center the stick, place the heli on the table then measure one blade tip from the table, rotate to the other blade and measure. If both blades tips are off, then that is your problem as you may have a bent head block. You can leave a ruler or a stick vertically to know they are tracking at the same point. Some blades may compensate for a slight tweak on the heli and some blades will let you know something is slightly off.

thanx for the tips i'll try some of them right away,
yes i have 10 mm blade grips and i fly my sab's and mah's with a 1 mm spacer , i' didn't lubricate my dampers and will do that right away . As for the head block, one is brand new the other had a very light crash (tip over actually) as i was to hasty to try my first protos and forgotten to check directions (all were inverted!!!)but my blades survided that crash.(the sab's by the way the only "good" ones for the moment.) both spindle's are perfectly straight (both new ) thankx.. i lubed my dampers checked my headblock , the new one is perfectly straight the other one was 5 mm off ( i fly my sab's on that one for a week now without any problem's!) i have zero pitch at center stick , - and + 11° both blades exactly the same . i spooled up again ,no improvement????? one blade was 2cm lower as the other , one turn on the long link and it's 2 cm higher. head rpm is 2800-2900. When you say "a 1mm spacer" - do you mean only one? there are supposed to be two per blade, 0.5mm each, one on top and one below.

i don't have the originals , i milled two pieces out of some 1mm (exectly) glas fibre.
these are used on my sab's too (works perfect) and the radix's are 10mm so.... |

Did you check if blades hit the same point while on the table? The only think I can think of to try is to swap the blades after noticing them off in the air. Make sure you mark the blades and take note, if nothing changes its the something in the head, if there is a change then its the blade themselves, a twist on one of them maybe. I haven had a bad set of Radix yet even the cosflaw ones.
If you did not lube the dampers they can easily be damaged.

hi,
i don't think it's a good idea to fly with blades tracking at least 2cm . i have two protos's perfect on track with the original sab's but when i change them with the radix's or my 2 pair of MAH's they track at least 2 cm. the strange thing is that my headblock on the first protos is slightly bended at the length of one blade i messure it's 0.5 cm closer to the table as the other one (turned 180 °off course) that protos had this week about 20 flights with the sab's and no problem , the other protos(carbon) is brand new and "doesn't except" all my other blades either. I usually fly at my house , maybe i'm gonna go next week someware other people can try these blades . i'm working on a mold to for 430mm blades (actually my dad is) i'll give that a try too ( i've made some 325mm blades and there the best i ever had on my T 450, full carbon hollow blades stiffer and lighter then radix's..) |

I have a set of Maniac blades that do not track well. They are balanced. I have read of others with Maniac with tracking problems as well. I have a set of Radix and sab that track well.
