Yes, and you can also upgrade to the new V2.5 firmware yourself with this software.
Beware: firmware upgrade is only available to hardware version 2.
The pc software however can be used for both V1 and V2 hardware, provided that the USB port is activated, that is firmware version 4.
And believe it or not, V2.5 has some noticable improvements on flight performance over V2.4, this is what I found during my first 6 flights:
-Axial rolls are now even easier.
-Tail performance better at low rpm's
-Even more stable hover
-Tail performance is a bit more precise.

Also new:
-You can set a minimum rx voltage level for voltage drop detection: If the voltage drops below that level during flight, the AC-3X displays the miniumum voltage at end of flight.
-You can set a time in seconds for the AC-3X to automatically switch from programming mode to flight mode. This helps when you forget to leave programming mode in order to fly.
-Support of so-called "sumsignal" receivers, where only one servo cable goes from receiver to AC-3X.

Default Upgradable versions

I hope this is clear enough:
The number before the dot is the hardware version.
Number after dot is firmware version.

In the startup screen you can see the hardware/firmware version.
Only version 2.4 can be upgraded to 2.5 by yourself.
With version 1.4 you can use the pc software for storing and editing of data but you cannot upgrade firmware.
Version 1.2 and 1.3 must be sent in first for update to 1.4 because the USB connection is not active yet.
Update from 1.4 to 2.4/2.5 is NOT possible due to the hardware differences.

Cool, thanks for the info. I wonder if the 3X will perform noticably better than my V1.2 and or V1.3.

I'll have to e-mail Steffan and see what the upgrade costs.
