You're right. I'm not carrying the Shark but the TZ50 V2 Frenzy.

As stated previously, I made the adjustments on the cyclic links to true her up a little ..... so I ended up down at the local club today, and after one of the 'better' heli pilots there had a slight mishap due to no fuel and limited head speed being he was adjusting throttle curves on idle down at the time (ie - failed autorotation) ... he was kind enough to give my baby a going over and test flight.

I still got a little work re getting the gyro gain correct (still too low), but other than a slight trim here or there, she is all good - the previous work I did paid off!!!

AND ... I managed to find a guy who sells pre-mixed 'coolpower' fuel at only 2/3 of the rate I can get it for at the LHS ..... so came home with more fuel than i started and saved some coin at the same time - so all in all ... a good day!!!

Weekend is here .... great sunny day ....... is it really too much to ask for a little less wind just to do some more setup flight checks?

PS ... have any of you used a Revlock 30 governer ... and if so, how did you find it's performance?

Just managed a quick flight, was working on getting the right balance of expo to where I'm happy with the cyclic and rudder response ...... It's always the way that you get them almost perfect and have her under control and sitting in a nice hover that you run out of gas on the single tank you have allowed yourself to get through before you have to head back to work!!

STILL .... there is always this evening if I can get the flight pack and glow heater charged in time being as I was using them when re-adjusting/testing the motor mix yesterday ..... has a lot more obvious power to the head now the run-in richness has been dialed back a bit - and I still have an almost cold end 'bell' (back plate on crank) after about 12 min of running it this morning, so am happy I don't have her running too lean at this point.

This process is one that I'm now starting to feel a little more happy with, as not having used nitro motors, 'big' heli's and or a programmable transmitters/gyro prior, it's proving to be a fun learning curve.

Those spots will grow back quick.
I do not use an exhaust defector, I have not noticed any change in mess with or without the deflector, I do notice a drop in power due to the extra restriction of the deflector. If you must run a deflector, point it to the side, it is the heat of the exhaust gasses that burn the grass blades, the grass roots are still fine so all it needs is some water ant it will come right back.

"the grass roots are still fine so all it needs is some water ant it will come right back."
Unlike when you hit them with the blades!

You really need to start working on the various landing orientations, There is left and right Knife edge, Nose down (one of my favorites), tail down, and of course inverted.

The flying orientations are easy.

Came in here for a quick distraction form work ...... dam glad I did ... laughter is apparently the best medicine ......

On that front, I found THIS the other day .... just about wet myself after laughing so much at it (he did check this machine over TWICE prior to flight)

Inverted IS the hardest on the lawn! Of course, the heli is rarely very happy about it either!

Been there done that.
Not because the Jesus bolt was left out, but because it broke in flight.
That is why Gohbee uses a 4mm jesus bolt on the 50 instead of the 3mm that most other 50 size helies have.
As long as the head and other parts come down in safe places, it is always funny as he!!. It is amazing how far that head will travel. You can tell by that guy looing up and then behind himself waiting for it to come down.
He did hit hold pretty quick.

I think it was in this thread somewhere that I mentioned checking that bolt as part of every preflight.

Inverted is not hard on the lawn, you do have to keep the lawn aerated for good root health.

Breaking it in flight is one thing ..... checking over the whole heli TWICE and still having it left out ...... that's PRICELESS!!

Man! I already aereated the lawn by going side in!
Is carbon fiber good for grass roots?
If I could learn to crash next to the sidewalk at least the edging would be done.

FINALLY managed another "flight" this morning ...... FYI - DON'T try to fly after having family round for a 'few' drinks the night prior (not enough sleep = BAD skill flying level)
Least I had enough presence to say "enough is enough" before I broke it!

Sometime you just have to realize that it is not a good time to fly and live to fly another day. Good call.

At our field the heli are does seem to get greener grass than the plank side of the field, It must be the regular feedings of carbon fiber and regular aeration.
