Hey guys I have a Raptor 50 with the Hyper engine and I was wondering what some of you are using in your throttle curve (normal). I have a 5 point. If I put my mid-stick at 45% it still seems to be to fast. I don't have a tach. It seems to start shaking at mid-stick. Does that indicate to high of a head speed? Help!!!

You really should invest in a tach or governor if you dont know what fast sounds like its impossible to say if its too fast or too slow, you can however back off your throttle curve or richen your needle if its too fast, usually Raptors wobble when they are too slow.
Also "mid-stick" doesn't help much w/o knowing how much pitch you are running.

Its shaking at mid-stick still on the ground. 0 degrees at mid stick. I'm just curious what other are using as a throttle curve. Right now I have my max throttle at 75%. At anyting higher it seems like it will come apart.

Sounds like something is out of balance or your blades are too tight
A normal mode curve that I use on the OS50 is 0 25 35 45 100 An idle up V curve that I use on the OS50 100 65 50 65 100 But my favorite is 100 100 100 100 100 And the RevMax in control ![]() |

We can't give you curves over the web. It depends on your engine and setup.
With the backplate cool to the touch (ie it's running plenty rich) my 50 hyper can spin 10 degrees of pitch 1800rpm at around 60-65% on the throttle, and throttle for 0% is only ~ 30. With a pitch curve of (normal mode) -5, -2, 0, 5, 10 my throttle is about 0,20,28,37,70 In idle1 I use -10,-5,0,5,10 and 75,37,30,37,75...in case the governor fails. That _should_ keep me roughly 1700-1800 whereas I currently have the governor set for 1850 (might bump that up a bit now that I have a metal head) T |
