Default Anyone Seen the RC Heli TV Commercial?

We were watching the Olympics the other night when we caught a 30-second Super Bowl-type commercial (Hormel mini-pepperoni) that features an obviously faked R/C heli that bomb-drop delivers tomato sauce onto a plate on the dinner table, while this guy at the head of the table is frantically working a bogus radio transmitter.

The scene opens with a crazy mechanical dinosaur thing that delivers something (I forget what) to the dinner table while the family is seated around it. Immediately after that, a 600-size heli carrying a load of tomato sauce flies in and hovers over the table. After dropping its "sauce-bomb" the heli becomes unstable and crashes into the china cabinet.

Altogether unrealistic, but really funny for us heli-freaks.

The robot "places" spaghetti on the girl's plate, then the heli drops the tomato sauce on it.

That's pretty good. Mmmmm, Hormel - I knew a guy whose hometown was where the Hormel plant was at. Said the whole town always reeked of SPAM.

Oh, found this on the web: "When the wind blows just right (or wrong, depending on your perspective) all of Austin, MN smells like processed pig"

Thanks, y'all - the commercial went so fast, I could hardly see the details of what was going on. I was mistaken about the mechanical "dinosaur" - it was actually a R/C model front end loader delivering spaghetti!

I just saw the Hormel commercial this morning. Also, earlier this week I saw another one for a cellphone where the guy flies his heli out the window with the cellphone cameraphone strapped to the skids. Seems like r/c helis are going mainstream!

About a week ago there was a commercial on Discoverey advertising X Heli .com I believe it was. Not just an add containing a heli but a full blown one for rc helis.

Last episode of Hawaii Five-O used a 5-N-1 board (MSR?) for a bad thing trigger. Kinda cool - the servos didn't do anything but the tail motor cable was attached to bad things.

What was neat about this is that I noticed it walking by the TV. I would have never caught something like this in the past. *&#%^# helis.

Wish they wouldn't put that on the tube - more fire power for this FAA thing going on.

I wouldn't worry about that. There are much better trigger devices out there than RC stuff. Cell phones comes to mind, and I don't see those getting banned or restricted any time soon.
