As far as I know the Airwolf mSR fuselage is the only Airwolf fuselage which was really engineered for the mSR mechanics. It has unique features such as the battery holder integrated ADF POD (the famous rocket launcher), the release on impact system that saves both fuselage and mSR mechanics on impact, etc. About the quality of the material: it's hand build and made of vacuum formed high impact PS which is a durable material which gives the possibility to repair easily with plastic model glue and to add details which come from cannibalized 1:48 scale plastic kits like scale landing gears, nose tubes, etc. What else could you possibly expect about a fuselage? |

Looks like your battery is really dead, the E-Flite 150mAh has about the same flight time as the Turnigy 160mAh. A battery of this type in good condition should give you about 5 minutes flight time. Me I use both types and the performance is similar.

Hey AirwolfRCPilot! When yea gonna get crack'n on the 120SR Airwolf? I really want one bad! It'll look so awesome with my red alloy from RKH. Plus, I think it'll have a much better chance than the MSR.
I wouldn't mind being a guinea pig for yea! Looking forward to it, take care and Merry Christmas!

Thanks Marc! And many happy flights in 2011 to everyone!
About the 120 SR the COG will be OK with the new shape but one thing keeps bothering me: the elevated tail of the 120 SR. Does anyone knows if there is a flat motor mount available similar to the SR version of microheli http://www.microheli.com/images/MH-SR3025_a.jpg With the elevated motor mount it looks just not scale enough for me... |

Good question, I haven't thought of the tail. Look's like you might need to invent something for the fuselage.

Do you happen to know whether your Airwolf canopy fits to a Nine Eagles Solo pro. It looks fairly similar to a mSR. |

AirwolfRCpilot is the best! I received my replacement babyWolf fuselage yesterday and it's nearly perfect! I didn't even have to do any cutting to make it fit my mSR. The first one had the slot in the tail in the wrong place and the motor hole for the one without the end cap. But not to worry! AirwolfRCpilot promptly replaced the fuselage with one of very high quality and even paid for return shipping. The babyWolf fuselages are shipped very well packed and are backed by excellent customer service. Here is a picture of my completed Airwolf ready to fly. I'm just waiting for my DX7 to charge before her first flight.
I made the first flights with the Airwolf. Flew 4 battery packs using Common Sense 150 mAh packs. Had to hand launch which was tricky until I got her dialed in, crashed a few times during this but no damage. Once I got her setup with the DX7 things were much easier. She is very stable in flight. I mostly hovered around until I got the hang of it then some FF. She handles very nicely once dialed in and flies approximately 5 minutes on a charge. I would like to take off and land on a table. Does anyone know where I can get some reasonably priced semi-scale landing gear? Last edited by Mgy; 01-07-2011 at 11:25 PM.. Reason: report on flight |

for the mSR ultimate I used a 1/48 scale landing gear of a plastic model kit, that's the perfect scale for this fuselage. Of course they are very fragile and I don't think they can survive hard landing without being suspended like on the Airwolf mSR Ultimate. maybe you can try to find a 1/48 scale Airwolf or bell 222 kit and canibalise it. Another possibility is to use thin steel wires and a small plastic wheels but that's up to your creativity |

Hi there Guys, it's been a while since my last post but it doesn't mean my brain was on non-active
![]() I came up with a new concept for the landing gear which is more simple, 0.3 grams lighter and even more durable than the Airwolf mSR Ultimate retractable gear setup: The Removable Retracts Concept or simply the Airwolf mSR R2 Concept. Some data:

Since the AIrwolf mSR still is my favorite fuselage I love to challenge myself to make her look like the real lady. So I give you a glimpse of what's possible when you mod your own mSR fuselage. Take a look at the in-air-refuel pipe, the venturi pipes and the fuel caps. Hope this inspires you guys!
For your info: the weight with all the mods is at 9,0 grams at the moment. I'd like to see pictures of your Airwolf mSR mods here, or maybe I could open a new thread on Airwolf mSR mods to let you show your own creativity based on the Airwolf mSR fuselage... |

Sometimes people are complaining about having not enough power or flighttime on their mSR. I own several mSR's and on one of them I noticed the same problem: it had shorter flighttimes and was less responsive but I found out why!
The main gear was too tight on the main shaft. |

Awesome bird AirwolfRCPilot! Awesome! But you know what's next? MCPX!
We'll definitely need an Airwolf for that baby! Think about it, a micro flybarless Airwolf! Nice work on the landing gears, actually look's better than your original concept. Do they still go up and down semi-automatically? Still looking forward to your 120SR version, but next we need a body for the MCPX! Sweet!

That mCP X looks great but it seems it has a similar kind of elevated tail as the 120SR. That kind of tail keeps me from making a nice looking tail for the airwolf fuselage. With the motor above the tail it looks just ugly, it needs to be more scale. If the mCP X uses the same tail the only solution might be to find a plastic mold maker who can make a flat tailmotor holder to use with the scale fuselage. If the tail is less elevated the mCPX fuselage might come sooner than the 120SR. But first I'll have to save some to buy an mCPX...
As for these R2 gears: they don't go up, You can simply take them off to have the retracted look as you can see in the pictures. Simple as that, more durable, lighter and cheaper to make. |
