Smile MSR/Ult. Airwolf~~~~~~~~~~~~~G.V.S. Edition

If you bind the MSR to the Spektrum DX6i and forget about the RTF. Well you get all you need in a great package plus the extra ch. For servos, etc, etc. I think Spektrum 7 even adds a 7th ch? So with this TX it would be possible to Retract the wheels on the carbon fiber triangle system used in larger TREX models, just scale it way down, etc. I have been fooling around with retracts on my wheels but have a long way to go as of printing. Got the metal head and added pitch. No worries even with 7 grams added and search lamp. etc.The brushless motor is too much of a glued hack job as of the moment. As with the "new" SRB Quark SG in the next year we might see, as demand has been so high, an MSR version 2, with bigger motors and perhaps not CP but with an sport mode/TH UP. When you are ready to start production and sell Ultimate airwolf esp. If you can use that high gloss paint that is amazing. Please add me to the list asap! Looking forwards! Will you have a fall release date planned? Cheers~Janick

Sure the DX6i has 2 channels left but the problem is not the TX. The problem here is the RX which only has 4 channels and none of them is free. I look forward to see some footage of your mSR Airwolf airborne. By the way, how much did you adjust the pitch angle with the CNC head? It's good to share this info with Marcwolf since he lives at higher altitude.
As I mentioned before I'm afraid the Airwolf mSR ultimate will be a unique masterpiece since it takes so many hours to built the details (and due to my job I have so little time left), after all it's nothing but the original Airwolf mSR kit plus a plastic kit and some building skills. Anyway for your info the plastic parts I'm using do come from a AMT/ERTL 1/48 Scale plastic Airwolf model. So you might wanna give it a try yourself, it's a challenge

I've heard about bending the grips to give the blades some pitch. Have not had a chance to try it yet.
My brother in California still has my MSR.
I need to get a bone-stock MSR and get this Airwolf fuse for it and go from there.

Post MSR Airwolf~~~~~~Ult.Airwolf G.V.S. Edition

After I wrote that I got to thinking about the 5in1 mother~board being the problem. It was late. Well if nothing else, tell me what kind of paint you are using to get that high gloss as compared to the matt black color issued to us in the United States etc. Does it add much weight as well? For success in the retracts I think that if we can figure out the 5in1 issue the weight need not be a problem, if we address it with this infamous upgrade part the ("Cusker swash ring.") This cnc preformance booster can allow the msr to roll and loop adding another element to flight and making the most use of the motor. As for pitch, I can't use my large pitch gauge like I have for my Blade 400 etc. So a slight twist at the proper angle with a pair of long nose at the base and tip should give it a1mm or 2mm of positive pitch, on the downside the long term effect of this is strain on an already overworked motor etc. "Gourvelos" who added dual brushless and two escs adding 50% more power might have a solution for the extra ch. Yet his testing isn't completed. For the moment I am only using the larger 3.7 150 mAh (.5 Wh) 12c batteries. With the wheels you will soon find out that 110 mAh can't keep up. Cheers in our work! Have been fooling around with the SR the past week and will carry on soon. Will need to order another body soon, If you can add that gloss paint no worries for the extra cost, as the testing is well taking its toll on the first body you were kind to send. Janick

For the gloss version I use Revell N°7 with Revell thinner. The weight should be exactly the same, it's just a question of finding the right thickness of paint and using a professional spray gun (I use a badger airbrush gun connected to an industrial compressor).
If you want it with the gloss finish instead of the silkmatt finish used by my US companion feel free to ask, I can do this with no extra charge.
I'm glad you guys like the work I'm doing, it motivates me to go on and develop new stuff for these great micro heli's. Who knows E-flite is reading this and gives us an extra free channel and a little more power to make the mSR even more suitable for scale flying. Anyhow, they did a great job so far.

I think next thing we need from Eflite is an MSR-CP. I bet having collective pitch will help. Plus as you said slightly bigger motor, bigger battery, and perhaps a 6-1 receiver with blank channel for options?
EFLITE ARE YOU LISTING?

Well...I think I just stumbled across the next thing from E-Flite and I just posted about it in the MCX Forum. - Looks like they are bringing us in Mid-May a MCX2 - which has more powerful motors and comes stock with a 120 instead of a 110 battery. It also has a CX/CX2 style Body on the little guy.

Maybe they are listening on the next MSR for after that. ;-)

I don't think that's the MSR we're thinking of. I think it's bigger and closer to size of the Blade CP.
Would be nice though.

Not following you Marcwolf. If your reply was to me - my only point was - the next heli out of E-Flite is not an upgraded MSR - its an upgraded MCX due in Mid May. I like the looks of it though.

Looks like we keep waiting for an upgraded MSR.

Now - as for the topic of Airwolf Body - Anyone have any idea if this Airwolf Body will work on the MCX? With the MCX2 coming with more powerful engines, it might be fun to fit a Airwolf body to...

Back on topic, I'm not sure if an MSR body could work on an MCX. I think when MIA made his Hughes 500 fuselages, he made a separate kit for the MSR and MCX.

Smile IE; posting #4 msr instructions with nice color photos etc

[YOUTUBE]

Just a little lighted (msrwolf) video, more to the point, upon the installation of msr to the airwolf frame, it isa little unclear in the pics shown here of where to cut the landing skids as to properly let the pod and boom sit up nice inside the wolf's body. It is in the PDF you always send when ordered or asked, but of course I missed placed it, and think that the general public might be confused as I was, in the start of the project over the past two months. Cheers~Janick~ Looking ever forwards as we all are to the Ultimate msr airwolf! Looks like an amazing start with the afterburners in place and front landing testing..Super mini red leds should go into drilled out core of afterburner on port and starboard side!!

Post Msr/airwolf/ideas~

www.bladehelis.com the new mcx2 with the lights, bigger motors and scale body with same swash as msr is on the way in middle May. I didn't pay it any mind until the past few days! Interesting!. Add the cusker mod etc and might have a winner? I think I might add the wolf body on it when it arrives to see? The gentlemans post a few up, might not be that far off (topic.) Esp. With the larger motors and over 4 leds with red/port green/starboard o the new msr sized bird* We have to wait a bit to see. I added an msr inverted video from our indoor Rc club here in sunny South Florida. I want to try this idea with the wolf~body on very soon too. Keep up the good work everybody! Has anyone added the aftermarket flybar mod/upgrade with their scale body on their msr yet? Be it wolf or be it MD500?

No, simply inverting the blades won't reverse the pitch angle. To use the stock MSR blades for inverted flight, it's either reverse rotor direction or switching the blade tips (punching a new hole on the opposite end for grips).

And mounting the skids on top so you can land upside down as well right? LOL!

Exclamation msr AIRWOLF photos...

Message to all msr scale bodies owners. In keeping on our forum here ie; msr airwolf helicopter. Please post (any) photos you all have of your scale msr with the airwolf bodies on to share for all of us on this form plz We had some nice pics in the first pages, but now that we all had some time to order, mod, fly with the scale air wolf attached etc... Bring in on Also Mario's MD500 is interesting too, if you can stand the wait lol. I got mine in yellow, but have to say it just dosent compare to flying the dream aka (air wolf) looking forwards to next months release of the mcx V2. Anyone have inside info on msr Version 2? Etc or must we wait till Christmas 2011 lol! They sank so much in the SR that I think the msr next generation is on the back burner for the rest of the season? I'm sure I will find a way to hack off the mcx2 lights and add them to my wolf. Air wolf RC pilot is working on state of the art msr models as we read! So I think that pretty soon, Elflite will have to take notice, as they are missing out on just how many of us enjoy a small scale msr detailed body style. If Bell would approve.. Imagine what a 206 jet ranger~could scale to our little msr etc. More to the point post your pics and keep the thread alive. Janick
