Default How can I keep my tail blades off the ground?

I'm running KBDD tail blades and they stick out about 1mm below the vert stab. I had a ping pong ball glued on there before, but I'm ready for a less silly looking solution. Ideas? Solutions?

Take a old flybar/pushrood/piece of pianio wire as small of dia needed and bend you an extendtion and att it to the tail fin, I would probley also bend a 90 at the upper part and drill a small hole in the fin and put it in the hole then use thread with ca/expoxy and wrap the wire to the fin nice and neat to give it strength sand it and paint over it to make look nice, most would just buy a larger fin and go that route-----Wrench

You could use a 450 pro stabilizer - they are a bit longer than the V1/V2 ones as the pro tail blades are a fraction longer.

But I had pro tail blades on my V2 and they still were not longer than the stabilizer?

Why do you need such long tail blades ???? why not use standard ones and avoid all the issues? After all, the top 3D pilots were using them fine not long ago so I really can't see the need for such long blades unless you want to give Mr A.Szabo a 3D challenge ...

I use low profile gorilla gear on the front and regular on the back which keeps the tail in the air and looks pretty cool too.

Lightbulb Spacers

If you have any of the little frame spacers that go between the outer and inner frames, you can put a couple under the back landing struts between the struts and the frame.

Actually, any little spacer will do. Also, it does not take much.

+1 - the GGs work well, and are pretty close to indestructible.

A few guys I fly with put T-rex 500 skids on thier 450's to keep thier tail blades out of the grass. I believe you just drill a couple of new holes in the struts. It makes the whole heli sit a couple of inches higher. It looks pretty cool too. Give that a shot. I am about to get some for mine as well.
