Hi
I have a new DSX9 transmitter and just built a 600N. As a newbie I'd like to run the engine in on the ground but wondered if you guys could post some possible throttle an pitch curves? I see in the Align manual it shows a 5 point curve but I've just noticed that the DSX9 has a 7 point curve, can anybody help? Nick

You want to just be able to run the engine without flying? If so, make sure your blade pitch is at 0 degrees at half stick. (You'll need a pitch gauge unless you can eyeball it well). Generally with that, about 1 or 2 notches above half stick will give your heli a steady hover. So stay below those if you want to just spool up on the ground. For your pitch curve, I'd suggest just a linear curve (0-100%). Personally, I use a curve that begins at 30% at 0 stick then 50% at half stick and linear up to 100% afterwards. Tends to allows newbies a little more cushion incase you get scared and drop the stick. But for idle up mode and such, you want a 0-100% curve.
Throttle curve all depends. Are you using a gov? If you aren't, I wouldn't go above 80% on the curve otherwise you risk overspeeding like crazy. I'm running 50% on my swash mix which gives me about +/- 11 degrees. Hope this helps a little.

With a rich mixture, I used 0-45-65 and got 1700RPM on the head at both zero degrees pitch and during a hover. When I leaned it out the HS increased and I had to reduce the throttle curve at the mid and high points. I'm running +/- 11 degrees on collective.
Good luck!

Thank you for the answers guys, I have got a governor but am leaving it off until the engine is broken in, that's my next hurdle, how to brake in the engine.

TT,
Just go through the T-Rex 600 Nitro forum page by page starting from the most recent page, and you'll find a handful of recent threads in the first few pages that deal with curves and break in. There are a few of us at least that have just gone through or are still going through break in and you'll find lots of information in those threads. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Also, not sure about breaking in the engine on the ground, you need to be able to place some load on the motor in order to raise combustion chamber pressure to seat the ring. You should at least do it in a hover.
