FBL 6HV

Although the performance of the FB 6HV is superb - especially with the 11t pinion I was curious to see how she'd go with the FBL. I used the stock Compass FBL 50 head and decided against the unorthodox linkage via the swash driver - I used an MA 3x75mm rod into MA ball links which gave a link length of 96mm.

As the blade grips are 25mm from the mast rather than the 30mm specified by Mikado for VBar and the gearing down effect of link via the swash driever is lost there is a tendency for too much blade travel so servo arms need to be 20mm or less. I ended up with +/- 14° at 85% collective on VB which I toned down to 80%.

ANyway test flew it yesterday with an 11t Scorpion pinion and it made a much livelier heli - tracking seemed very true and response was very agile - I'll try and get some video this w/e

Interesting thought ! - some of the height is accentuated by the rake of the canopy dropping off towards the back but I agree that 10-15mm off would look good and possible improve FFF - hmm a project coming up methinks
