Talking Velocity 90 NON Build Thread

Hey Guys,

Thought I would start a thread for all of us that are pumped up about the Velocity 90. Post anything you want to here that even has the slightest thing to do about the 90 so we aren't cluttering up Charley's build thread. Have fun!

I like your build Capi! I'm converting my Velocity 50 to flybarless next week when the SK-720 comes in, so some of the electronics I'm pulling fom the 50 will be waiting for the 90. Here's what I'm thinking.

YS 91SR (Don't know what your -3DS is, but if that is the new one, me too!)
Spartan DS760 (From the 50)
Outrage Torq servos
Inolab throttle (Or another Torq if I'm feeling rich!)
AR7100R using the internal rev limiter
Probably stock paddles to start with
Hopefully Outrage main and tail blades!

Now....If only Charley will do a combo kit with Torq servos, maybe a RX LiPo, YS (or Outrage?) engine, pipe and blades.....???

The 50 really got the Outrage name out there as a real player. This 90 is going to make people forget that other manufacturer!

The YS SR-3DS is the new YS, should be coming out this or next month.

I know Outrage will be making blades but not sure if they will be up to Charley's standards by the time the 90 kit comes out, let's cross our fingers.

Helidirect is usually very good with their combos, so i wouldn't be surprised to see combos that include servos and such.... but not on the initial kit releases

I think Bill is hanging out on the 90 build thread now that he thinks it's safe there. We can put our Velocity orders together here and make one big order on his credit card. LOL

Maybe Bill can contact HeliDirect.com, and get a discount once they see how large his order is.

I'm thinking I'll go with...

Align 91/ Hatori pipe combo(got it sitting hear)
JR 8917's cyclic
Spartan DS760/BLS251
AR7100R
Align 620 probably since I have a couple sitting here
Got plenty of 90 size blades but if new one's are on the way out I'll pick some up to try. Though I still need to try out a pair of the 630's especially now that I have a Velocity 50 again.
Stock paddles/tail blades

My planned pair

#1
YS 91SR-3DS with Outrage pipe
Futaba BLS252's cyclic
AR7100
Curtis ATGv3 gov, not sure of throttle servo, probably use a spare Align DS620 or Airtronics 94758z
Spartan DS760 or Quark(undecided-Have both on hand)
JR8900G tail or Futaba 9256 or new JR BLS tail servo if I get lucky, or Outrage tail maybe I dunno. Lots of thinking to do.
Blades---Mavrikk G5 Pro Wide cord 710mm, Radix 710mm SB
Tails--KBDD 102mm
Paddles--we'll see what the team likes, but I have KBDD 90's on hand to try

#2
will be pretty much clone of #1 except will use one of my spare YS91SR's or OS 91HZ's. May mix up blades on this one to try new stuff, ie 690's, etc... I do hear the flying Vel90's are doing awesome on 710's though, so the bigger disk should rock.
May use BLS451's on this one too, as I have a set in one of my 700's that will in all likelihood get retired once the Vel90's hit the market . I suppose it will depend on how I like the BLS252's on the first ship. Didn't get much time on them with my Aurora before I sold it. Plus I may try the 252's on straight 2s lipo and not sure how they are going to fair. The 451's are doing great on 2s Lipo .

Hey Jeremy! Nate won't own a nitro heli, but he sure liked flying my Velocity! Pretty sure that convinced him to get a Fusion 50 or 90 (maybe both!) when they come out. Too bad he didn't get a chance to fly your 550. On 8S that thing must be an animal!

The Reactor X looks nice and Scott is a nice fella but the Kiwi is a much simpler device and about half the price. I have been very happy with the Kiwi on my 50 so ill continue with what works for me. NOW DO WHAT I SAY AND BUY ONE

Just watched the video of the 90 at Huntsville. It would be nice if Charley would design something that I DON'T just HAVE to have! LOL
