Default Phoenix RC help

I just got Phoenix RC in last night and I hooked it up to my Futaba T6EXHP. I've never flown a helicopter or anything because I'm just getting in to helis. So far the controls are not even close to being right. No matter how I change things around the heli does it's own thing. I've tried changing the types of controllers in PhoenixRC and even make my own. I had it last night to where I could fly it a little even though it wasn't as controllable as I felt it should have been. But this morning I wake up and try to fly and they heli won't do anything but flop on it's side. When I go to calibrate it shows 8 channels changing but none of them change how they should (not to mention it's a 6 channel Tx). They either stick where they are or jump from 0-100 and back with very little movement in the stick........this has been very very discouraging for my first flying with the sim. I didn't expect it to be easy but this just isn't right, there is something set up wrong.

Any ideas?

Figured it out. My RC Tx (that is new to me) wasn't charged all the way. I plugged it in for awhile and tried again. Everything worked fine....at least until the charge ran down again. Then things got unresponsive and crazy again.

Also make sure the transmitter is not in PCM mode. It should be in PPM (FM) mode.

Remove the crystal and the battery last longer.
