Default crashed my 450 but im happy

after, i think, 4 months into this hobby, i think that my skill have improved significantly compare to when i first started. as of today i can fly my heli forward in all direction, hover in all direction and can do couple loops with out any problems. So i decided to take my helis out today after work to have some fun. I;ve been flying inverted on the sim for couple of days now ( 1.5 days to be exact) and i was thinking, why not do it with the real thing?.
So i replaced a new pack for the 450 and took it out. Put it in the air, switched the switch to idle one and flipped the heli . At first i was bit scary because i ,till now, was having trouble with elevation when the heli is inverted but after a while, i kinda get use to it. I was able to fly and hover ( it was hard to get it hover because the heli was flying in everywhere) it for as long as the battery allowed me. at the end of the third pack, as the battery get weaker the heli get closer and closer to the ground. It was afraid of crashing so i flipped it and trying to gain some altitude but it was too late, the heli hit the ground nose first. I was thinking, if i didnt flip the heli but if i give a little more negative pitch the the heli would back in the air.
The crash was not that bad, i only have to replace new blades, main shaft, feathering shaft, the canopy got couple of scratches on it but I was happy because i now know the feeling of being able to hover and fly the heli up side down. I was thinking of doing the same thing with my 600 nitro but i was afraid of crashing it. Will put some more time to practice and hope someday i will have confident to fly my 600n up side down . Sorry if i;ve made u guys read a long essay but i guess you guys know how it;s feel the first time.

Sometimes these things happen when we push our limits.

Congratulations on having the courage to try something new, condolences for the crash.

I've been flirting with inverted flight as I've been flipping in each direction and just haven't stopped it while inverted yet. The last flight, I was kicking myself for not trying to hold it longer as I feel it would be better to have tried and maybe crashed than to not crash BUT not try. This could have been my post, and franky wish it was. (3 years and waiting)

Kudos.

Hey, well, at least you crashed due to learning something new. I crashed because my gyro fell off in flight.

Don't trust two-year-old gyro tape that sat in a hot garage!

First crash in two years, too. Dangit.

haha,

Good job with the inverted flying. At least you didn't pile the 600. You need to fly with a timer so you don't crash again due to low power or LVC.

A nice thing about nitro is you can "see" how much time is left by looking at the fuel level.
