Well i have stripped the stock 164 main gear, tried the mod 1 kde gear the microhelli gear the align mod 1, (all governed 2050 head speed) Im sure i read somewhere on here about using fixed endpoints instead to cure this. I have been using the kde pinion support CCHV110, 560KV motor with 115 / 13 tooth pinion. If i use fixed end points what percentage throttle curve should i use, any help would be most appreciated, Mark.

Get a lower kv motor. 400 - 450 ought to do the trick...

Turn your gov gain down to 18 and pitch at 13 max.

+1 on the GOV gain seems to reek havoc when set too high

Are you sure your at 15 on gov gain? With the power you have you can go down to +-12 on pitch that should help a lot. Another thing you could do is oil your main gear.

going to try FEP tomorrow at 80% i have stripped 2 kde main gears in gov mode but from what i have been reading fep is the way to go, however castle has a new update so i am sure that they were aware of people stripping out lots of gears on there old setting hopefully the new update cures this very frustrating problem on gov mode.

I was also stripping gears on 560kv, 115 mod 1 main and 13t pinion, Castle creation HV110 12s. I dropped to 11 tooth pinion and programmed the esc to simple gov. Flat line 80% T/curve gives me about 2050HS, and have not stripped a gear since.

a few suggestions...
- your motor KV is way too high, a 500kv or less motor would be optimal and allow you to run a slightly larger pinion for more tooth engagement... - use MOD-1 gears, KDE gear is best (yes, I know you stripped it already, buy another one), it is currently the thickest (11mm thick vs. stock 10mm) main gear in production for the T700. - apply some silicone grease to the main gear (can drop gear face temps 10*-20*F). Yes, it may pick up debris, check after every flight and reapply as needed. - set gear mesh on bench with 2 pieces of printer paper between the pinion & main gear. Then go hover for about 1 minute, check and reset gear mesh as needed. These gears get hot in flight and expand, so the mesh you set on the bench isn't worth a damn. So check it after things are warmed up. - try dropping your governor gain all the way down and then work your way back up, will feel sluggish in the air and have difficulty holding a head speed, increase it until it is steady and verify in the data log. - reduce your overall pitch range. You don't need to run 13* +/- collective in addition to whatever you're running on cyclic. Instead, improve your collective management to do more with less and don't mash the sticks around. - are you running the right size main blades for your model's weight? If you're running big, heavy 5000mah packs, you should be turning 700mm+ size blades to reduce disc loading, you'll also be able to reduce the pitch range since you'll have increased lift from the larger blades. - when all else fails, keep in mind that the drive train for the T700 (nitro and electric) are NOT engineered to really be able to handle the kind of power the electric systems are capable of putting out. They will pull until they fry themselves - not so with a nitro engine, it'll sag instead. You can't expect the drive train to hold up to power that is 2-3x as much as what a properly tuned nitro 90-size engine can only put out at it's peaks.

I have almost the exact same setup (CC110HV, Scorpion 560kv, 12s 5000) in my 700N e-conversion. I flew it for almost 2 years with no problems other than the tail was kicking on hard collective stops in GOV mode. Fixed end-point mode had no tail kick whatsoever. So, last year I upgraded the CC110 to the latest beta firmware at the time to see if it fixed the GOV mode tail kick and it immediately started stripping the stock 164T gears. After not flying for 6 months, I upgraded again to the latest firmware and I just stripped my third stock gear yesterday. I ordered the newer, CNC version of the stock gear HN7019-2 and am going to change over to fixed-endpoints and curves to see if that helps. Pretty sure I'm running +-13 degrees so I may dial that back to +-12 degrees as well.

Run the new Align slant gears. They are much tougher than any of the old gears. Hardly ever hear of stripping issues with those gears. Another bonus is that they are very quiet and much cheaper than aftermarket gears.
