Hey guys I know we usually post our freshly built new kits but I was thinking I haven't seen any crash pic's. I normally post crash pic's on another forum on HF but only a few guys have Atoms there like 2 guys other than myself. Anyway I wanted to get more time in and found a really close school with a good field where I can fly daily and this week I did just that. Well today it went in hard lots of damage including the frames, oh well since I want to improve a price must be paid. So to date this was my worst Atom crash yet possible re-kit. I still need to do a full postmortem it might look worst that it actually is anyway I hope so.

Default compass 3d knight

I crashed this 3 weeks ago and rebuilt it,and as I was putting new servos in I forgot to bolt down the gyro plat,Yea..
I pride myself on my building but sometimes it happens, got in a hurry to fly,
GYRO CAME LOOS AND SPIRALED INTO THE RUNWAY.
Just spent 230.00 to fix it and on 2nd flight it happened. It is pretty much gone, but good news is all electronics is still good.Motor good, muffler good.
So now I am looking at IRCHA for a new one!!!!

Sweeet! I'll try to keep posting to this page at a minimum. And for the record it's been 4 crashes on the Atom and 3 of them were serious.
Great Bird still.

Sorry about the crash but I really like that we got this thread started. I would see all the new Atom's and 6HV's ect nice and shinny and when I would crash it seemed like everyone else was just doing fine, only problems I would see was setup concerns. So this is helping me and I hope it will help others as long as we keep sharing our mistakes and equipment failures openly. Oh these are from the the 4th of this month, not a good month for the Atom. As some of you know I use to use the Align Carbon covered boom from their 700N but I just found out they stopped making it and paying $32 for a all CF boom is nuts(right now, I might change my mind later).

Hey BarnStormer, from my other crashes I found the G10 frame to handle a crash a lot better than the CF frame. I started out with CF but after one Med. crash they were toast, Atom CF is tougher than Align CF but Compass G10 it even better.

I don't think I've ever seen carnage that bad. I've heard of taco'ing a pack, but this one takes the, ummm....burrito? lol Glad you got it on film, but I feel for ya bro. At least it can go down in history with style right?

**edit** Dude, even my wife is saying "WTF?!?!?!" I've brought home a 450 or two in my pockets, but nothing as bad as this, so she is pretty impressed/dismayed. She gives you her condolences too.

Well on that one I dumb thumbed it, I started doing this thing a buddy of mine does. You come at yourself nose in from a distance, do an aileron roll to invert and punch out straight up into an inverted loop away from yourself. On the aileron to invert I went into the ground not up to the atmosphere
