Hi! Good list.

Recently I had a strange experience with rc-fever.com

I ordered quite many stuff and paid with PayPal. They got the money. But before they ship it they want the following three things from me:

1) Credit card authorized form
2) Photocopy of the front and back of the signed credit card
3) Credit Card Billing Statement

I don't think that's really ok! What do you think? Is this kind of procedure common?

Btw. My tip for a really good store with good service (in the "other" category):

...yes they said that since it is my first order and it exceeds $500 they want to take preventive measures just to make sure it's really me.

So, it will be ok anyway I hope. They are supposed to be a quite good company so I feel positive and we'll see what happens.

Thanks

I know that I certainly would NOT do what they asked .... that is a recipe for disaster ..

Find another store that does not ask you to give more that what your PayPal already has ..

Here's one that should be on any list of great on line shops. They're lightning fast on delivery and seem to keep lots of parts in stock at competitive prices. I've used them several times and they've been very good. And they advertise here on the freak.

guys, regarding RC-Fever. It went ok after all, just took some time, maybe 2-3 weeks, more 2 than 3 I know that some companies have strict rules regarding payment, it's up to yourself if you wanna do what they want, pick another place but in this case I had confidence cuz RC-Fever where supposed to be good. It was good after all. Will place another big order there soon.

One thing, I have not yet got "verified" on Paypal since I'm quite new there also. Maybe that could have something to do with it. Don't think so... but who knows.

Regarding shipment, it was quite fast:
order: Wed 10
shipping - Thu 18 - Mon 22

Being 'veriifed' on Paypal makes you "trustworthy" at least from a banking standpoint..

I got verified a few days late, my last order is delayed one month cuz of the chinese new year! bad luck. Consider that if you order from china now. Mid february is it over...

As a heli newbie (about 5 months now - Blade 400 and T-Rex 450 Sport), I've had positive experiences with http://www.readyheli.com/ (very fast shipping to MA - pretty good inventory), http://www.amainhobbies.com/ (great inventory), and http://www.gonitrohobbies.com/ , where I bought my Sport Super Combo for a very low price - shipped very fast! My 2c. Ideally I'd buy from LHS, but I'm a bit in the country.

Absolutely, both a buyer and seller have recourse if the transaction goes bad. Getting verified offers extra insurance to both sides I believe. It certainly makes it easier for sellers to ship orders above $500.

Unfortunately, no all countries allow for paypal verification, so its not always possible.

Default Please add our online shop

If you could please add our online shop. We are just getting started with our online shop but our store has been established since 1991. We are University Dive and Hobby Center here in Charlottesville VA - 434-296-6306. Our online store is www.usahobbyonline.com. Right now we have all the major products we carry but are in the process of adding all the parts to the store to support them. We stock RC Helis, Cars, boats, etc and we stock all the parts here. I will say that adding each of the items line by line is a MAJOR undertaking. Thanks

You can also check out our other page at www.universitydiveandhobbycenter.com
