Default Calling SJM 430 owners

I am looking at purchasing a lot of parts for the 430 and am wondering if there are still some customers out there that are flying theirs. Or has this heli gone the way of the shelf queen never to see the air again for fear of damage?
Just need a possible roll call perhaps to gauge the interest. I don't wish to shell out a big pile of cash just for my own spares.
Thanks all
Mark

It is good to see there is at least one more out there. I am sure there are more just all the forums are quiet since production finished.

Responded to PM.
Best bet on tail would be to convert over to some tail that Has parts such as I2 or Microheli or something like that.

Default what to do...

Hi Guys,

Recently won one of these SJM430's in a raffle, now i'm wondering whether to fly it, shelve it or donate it!

Has anyone done any research on viable alternate replacement parts from other brands for the head & gears & belt etc?? I also heard you need to increase the length of links on on the head as the stock ones are too short??

cheers,
simon

might be Fred from Hallam Hobbies....his store donated the raffle prize, have already visited his store but am still interested in what else is viable..ie looks like the trex 500 flybar might be a suitable alternative.

Yes I used to have a 430 and if memory serves me right, I used a TRex 500 flybar at some stage.

I've seen Mguw (who posted earlier in this thread) talk about using an alternative belt and belt drive gear so maybe ask him for details on that.

I also messed around trying to get a TRex 500 tail hub/grips to fit because I was having trouble getting the proper SJM parts. I didn't complete the idea because I ended up finding some SJM stock but with a bit of ingenuity I think you could probably make it work if you were stuck.

I am trying to give a new life to my sjm390v2 purchased from HK which has been collecting dust for over a year. The head shakes terribly and I think I need to replace the flybar stand (AL6051) and flybar copper ball(AL6052).
Does anyone has these parts in hand?

best bet reduce parts and go flybar less. eleminate all those parts and keep the bird in the air. just my two cents.

Hi

Its nice to hear about other SJM Pilots. I still fly my SJM 430 but i replaced the original head with one from RJX and the Swashplate is from a Atom 500. With this parts it flies a lot better and i dont have any problems with vibrations.

regards

Peter

Ha! They will never find this post here.

Really wanted a SJM 400. It was the coolest thing with gold anodized parts and a canopy that covered everything, gyro and all. Kind of like a henseleit canopy. This model was discontinued too fast for me to get one.

Good thing I didn't, It went away too fast. Gotta stay away from helis that are too eclectic and no one wants one. Parts support for that one went away fast too.

What happened to that one US vendor that had sjm parts? Rc-tech.com?

Hi all,

I've got two brand new SJM 430 C with 1100KV motor and 60A ESC still in unopened box if someone's interested. Think they have the blue canopy.
