Oh...I forgot to post this too. I put together a video, as part of my build series, on more detail of how I ran the wires, and what methods I used inside.

Hope this is helpful for folks looking to cram a bunch o wires into a tiny 450. ; )

OK, I'm able to post pics now, woo hoo!!!! I did this build without a single zip tie. If anybody wants I can pull a frame side off and take a pic of the guts.

Nothing rubs or slips, I have about 9 batteries through it already and check it out frequently.

Here you can see I pulled the ESC wire out the back and connect it with an extension to the RX. This lets me use a RX battery for setup and bench testing. No need to have motor wires hanging out.

Thanks Heli Freak!!

Hey Rick, that's not 450 pic.

rdlohr,

That's a simple, and really neat helicopter rack. I keep my 500ESP and 450Pro in their carry cases, with the 450SEv2 sat on top of the 450Pro case for a lack of anywhere else to put it. I'm now tempted to screw a batton to the wall and keep all three on display.

Has anyone here experimented with using Sugru to run wires on their build?

I have used Sugru (Formerol) for quite a few things, and thought it ideal. It sticks to anything, remains workable for 30 min, and even when fully cured 924 hours) can be easily removed if needed.

No zip ties...no harnesses...everything can be hidden nice and neat.

I'm in the middle of my first 450 build...will post a few pictures once the Sugru hardens.

Here...you can see the three servo's wires...nice and flat against the chassis and pushed down into the Sugru.

No zip ties...
Looks like it would add rather more mass than zip ties, wouldn't be as strong, takes a day to cure vs being instant and is possibly a pain to remove, whereas snip and a zip tie is gone.
