Thanks for the input.

So, what are the downsides of leaving a pack fully charged for more than a couple of days?

A chemist could provide you with a more accurate and detailed explanation but, the way I understand it, minimizing the static load or charge ultimately slows the inevitable rise in internal resistance that marks degredation of the anode and/or cathode. It facilitates some degree of stasis. Kinda like avoiding sunlight is conducive to healthy skin. It works for me.

A couple days is not a big deal.

I once asked a top notch 'lipo tech' guy from one of the big suppliers the best way to look after the cells, and got back a five word reply-

"Use it or loose it"

Just get out and fly as much as you can...LOL

Hi all

Great thread Guys!
A question from a new 5003D owner here:
Should I use an external BEC and a separate RX batt. on the heli? I saw some guys in the thread do it, while others didn't
If so - which one (BEC that is)?
I'll probably get a CC ESC (Kontronik seems way out of budget) and a Scorpion motor.

Thanks

The main rotor is merely a cooling fan - stop it and see how the pilot sweats...

no real need for seperate rx batt. and yes you should have a seperate bec with a cc esc, i would go with a hurcules bec or hurcules super bec.

Mr Mel. The ReadyHeli site recommended the Logo 600 scorpion HK III 44035-560 with a 12 tooth pinion. You were talking 17 and 18 tooth pinions. I am running Jive 80HV with heatsink on 10S. Recommendations?

104t vs 152t main gear. which one are youusing? With that motor I would definitely recommend the 104t. The 152t is prone to stripping.
