401 Gryo, thought I had the problem fixed.
The delay was set up on the gryo. Now set to ZERO, and we thought we had the problem fixed. Gain in my 9CHP Radio is set to 32 in HH. Any ideas in why the tail wag? |

MAKE SURE in the gyro sensitivity menu under MIX it is set to ACT not INH. If you have it in INH you will get tail wag after a piro or constantly. Found this out the hard way.

I'm getting back into RCing after 15 years (20 years for choppers). I'm about to recover from my Rip van Winkle syndrome. Man have things changed! I really wasn't thinking about getting back into heli's 'till I started "flying" the G3.5; decided I needed to learn to do the "switchless" inverted thingys and of course the backwards stuff that the HH gyro's allow now-a-days.
Anyway I got a TRex SE flying about a week ago. It's started to seem very sweet and smooth. (Did my first backwards loop a couple of days ago.) But I can't get rid of this rebound or bounce back when I stop a pirouette. (GY401-S9650) I've tried the book answer of increasing the delay, but it didn't seem to help (I started at zero and went all the way to 50% or so). It feels super in every other way, no hunting or wagging and feels great in piros with the gyro in rate mode (indoors). Everything seems to check out. No binding or flexing of pushrod, travel limit set on the gyro, digital mode, tail rotor pitch change moves freely. But this bounce back when stopping is annoying. Any suggestions? Sam |

Vibration can cause havok with a gyro it needs to be isolated on double sided foam tape, some people put a velcro strap for security but I should imaging you have the strap to tight or you could transmit some bad vibration to the gyro. At weekend I had a small crash and slightly bent main shaft and that transmitted enough vibration to cause the syptoms you are describing. scorlett I get the "bounce" thing as well, my bird is rock steady in the hover but after a piro/sharp rotation it bounces just a couple of times before getting back to a rock steady hold. I've played with the gain but no joy. I'm not up to 3D yet so it doesnt really effect my flying but i would like to get this solved if possible.
