Align ESC's ?

I just ordered my long awaited for 600 ESP and the guys where I hang out (Blade 400 board) that own 600's have told me that the stock Align ESC is junk. I wanted a CC110, but, Align will not allow any substitutions with their kits. The heli guys at Graves in Orlando said that the stocker is fine, now. What do you guys think?

I ran the stock ESC, for over 100 flights on 6S, I used the Gov function too and it work remarkebly well, I did a post on how to setup the gov. mode on it. If youre gonna get a another ESC you might aswell go 12S from the getgo, I have a 12S motor for you if are interested.

The Align esc's work fine but I never got the gov mode to work on any of them.Every once in a while a bad one gets by and burns up but that happens with pretty much any electronic.Align sales more kits than anyone out there with esc's so the chances are higher in getting a bad one,just contact the hobby shop or vendor for a replacement if it go's bad.I plan on useing another one of these but I had a Castle ICE 100 smoke/burn up in less than 40 flights.My point is,it happens to them all.
Maybe Brett74 can post a link for the gov mode fix?

I was never able to get the Align governor to work well, either. Of course the instructions for setup are basically non-existent, which doesn't help.
On the other hand, in un-governed mode I flew my 100A ESC for 222 flights last year with absolutely no trouble at all. The 600ESP was my first bird so I decided to keep my costs down and fly with what I had in the kit, which was all Align stuff.
Now with a full season under my belt I've converted (still at 6s) to a KDE motor and Castle ICE 100 to get better power, more control and data logging.
IMO, my Align electronics have already paid for themselves getting me to this point.

I and several others at my field have been using the Align esc's on their helis with no issues as all. I have 100+ flights on my 100A, and had 100+ on my old 75a couple years ago with no issues at all. As stated before, there will always be a couple bad units out there with any brand.

Colin,
He means that Align will not let you pick other brands of electronics,blades,nitro motors,pipes ect...You get what Align sales only.The only place that allows you to pick what you want with the kit is GrandRc....

I tried to order this bird from Grand RC (with the exact electronics I wanted) in Jan. with their Jan. only 10% off sale and they never returned my phone calls.
My LHS, Hobby World 103 St. in Jacksonville, Fl, gave me the discount, but no choosing kit parts. I try to purchase all my RC gear from them, good people!

Hey Chip, Missed seeing you out at the club for the meeting Sun, the stock Align ESC has worked just fine for me on my 600, but am looking at the CC 100a for it so to get the nice programing goodies that it offers, after getting the CC ESC on the 700 worked out I realy like the way it works and the ease of using a laptop or PC to tweek the settings, have fun with the build and lets see that bad boy out at the club----------Wrench

Hey there Wrench! Yeh, I was down in Tampa for the annual FSTA taxidermy convention. It seems that every Sunday I plan on coming up to Jax RC something comes up.....see ya soon!
My 600 comes in tomorrow, but, I'll be in Titusville, looks like Thursday will be the birth of the bird!
