Default 6s setup w 170 main=what motor?Xera any good??

I am completely aware of the 8/10/12 s setups but want to keep mine at the stock 6s setup. My 600XL motor went buy buy today, and I would like to know what RECENT setups work great with a 6 s setup. I would like a little more "umph". I am not stuck on Align/Scorpion/Neu and am open to ideas. I am running a CC100 esc. I have a ton of the 170 stock main gears and would also like to stick with that as a main gear. I just want to hit head speeds of about 2050/2100 and not bog too badly. I am running Turningy 35C batteries. I remember hearing something on XERA motors being awesome, any thoughts on this one? I really appreciate the help/opinions fellas.

Don't know anything about Xera motors.
IF you decide to go the Scorpion route I would suggest you look at the Hyperion line.
Hyperion motors are made by Scorpion with matching specs, but have better bearings that don't have the high maintenance requirements that the Scorpions are so well-known for.
Generally they're not easy to find online, but if your LHS carries Hyperion products they should be able to get what you need. Prices are the same as Scorpion.

Thanks Cheetah! Would this be a good replacement or would you recommend a lower kv?

I am building a similar setup as you. CC120HV esc, 170 main, 6 cell lipo, and am using a Hyperion 4025 1100 kv motor. In the process right now of figuring out which pinion to use. Anxious to see the improvment over the 600L

The Scorpion 4025-1100 is an awesome replacement for 6S. Runs cool, efficient, and more power than the Align motors.

Where do you get pinions for the Scorpion 6mm shaft motor that are compatible with the Align main gear?

Thanks fellas. Just ordered the HK4025-1100 and 14 T pinions. Will I need a 15T or will that be a bit much for the 6s setup???

Pity. I have a X-era 4030-470kV motor in a 700 sized scale Long Ranger. Very nice motor, really smooth, quality bearings.

I wanted a 4025-560kV X-era for my 4 blade 600 Seahawk, but could not get one in stock at the time. Had to settle for a similar Scorpion, and by the time I got a 6mm shaft and ceramic bearings they were almost the same price.
