That has been discussed actually, the consensus seems that if they do a 120 sized one they had better ditch the eff'n tail motor for a bi-directionally capable tail.

Yeah or the ones I like the most are the more recent commercials for all these prescription drug things where they quickly bang through all the possible side effects.

Some of the ones I've herd recently are, may cause suicidal tendencies, and then my personal favorite, may cause leakage...oh man.

I mean for the ones that are life saving, that's one thing. But other then that I think I would just rather deal with the allergies the have to carry three pairs of extra undies with me all day.

As to what's next I can't imagine. Blade certainly has a laid out a path: mCX, mSR, SR120, SR, mCP X, and the announced Bade 450.
Good question, why don't you start up a thread about it, as it was your idea, it would be immoral for me to take it, but it is your choice?

I think I've done enough speculation on the mCP X! Please feel free to pick up the ball and run.

I'm glad the MCP is coming out now as the weather gets warm. This way I won't buy it now and sit back and watch the forums and see other guys in my area fly them.. Throw away all the mad posts from guys who said they can fly the msr fixed pitch perfectly but there must be something wrong with my MCP etc..
I will then read all the experienced CP fliers posts and see. Also I read that this year there will be a few more entries into this sized cp heli's so I will wait for that too. If one is a Walkera I still won't buy it. And Align is getting one too.which could be interesting.
This fall or beginning of winter I think all the dust will settle,,parts will be in stock+ hop ups maybe and and the other new heli's will be on the market.
If I decide on the Mcp this fall from the other entries in this class I'm sure the prices will have dropped by then too.

Seemed like a niche flyer I would like to own due to it's size, weight, and price. Will find out in a week or two, and will be happy to get what I paid for, not compared to any other vehicle......
Yep, its roughly only 1" longer than the mSR.

And as far as the tail boom goes. I had an mSR for about a year and a half and never came close to breaking the tailboom. It's was a super low mass heli and is built with proportionate strength. And actually comparing to other helis that are larger its built way stronger proportionally speaking (the mSR that is). Given that the mCPX is .5 onces heavier and a littler larger, I expect basically the same type of durability. Yes its a CP, but its also FBL, so my guess is its kind of a wash.

the real factor is here is the head speed again i think most people that already fly a CP and know how to hit TH will be ok
its going to be all the people moving up from a mCX2 or mSR and getting in to idle up and not hittin TH or people with the RTF tx and not hitting TH

Good point, I still don't hit the TH fast enough on my big birds. I'm hoping it can micro chicken dance for a second or two without any major damage.

Maybe it's just me...but it seems like a lot of negative comments here...I have heard it flies as stable as a mSR w/o the annoying pendulum effect...I am obviously a Blade fanboy...I freely admit so, but I don't have an iPhone so I don't get on the wagon unless it's gonna take me where I want to go...

Point is, I think I know pretty much what I'm buying and it wasn't $180 either...how about that? price is already coming down...I think it will be fun and exactly what I expect it to be, unless it's like some other Blade helis and I get MORE then I though I would in value...I don't have a Blade heli that underwhelms me but then again, I don't have ALL of em either.

I don't see as much negativity as words of caution. I think if you know the difference between CP stable ad FP stable you'll be alright but if your expecting it to return to a vertical position (mainshaft straight up) after letting off the cyclic then you may be in for more than your aware of. Not saying that those people won't be able to learn it by any means, just that they'll have to readjust to the characteristics of a CP. You having a 400 puts you in a better position to know what to expect to a degree more so than someone with zero CP experience. I've never heard "MSR stability" but rather "Stable for a CP" which can be misleading but isn't an incorrect statement. A reported ability to hover for a second or two before hands off making an input isn't like the MSR's hand's off hovering.

I have one on pre-order from the LHS for $199. Yes I know I could order it on line cheaper (and I might yet). I will also point out that I am NOT a Blade fan....had a B400 and hated it. but......

I wonder if a lot of these MCPx's are going to guys like me that live in northern climate and get really sick of the sim mid winter. I also have an MSR and hate it... way too stable and really doesn't do what I want it to. So I am hoping that the MCPx will give me much more of a challenge and hone my inverted skills indoors.

I also have a t-rex 450 and 600 (I love that 600).

It cost me $75 to fill up my truck with gas. 2.5 fill-ups just bought me a MCPx is the way I look at it.

I'll stick my neck out abit and ask a question. Why would you pay top dollar for a product sight unseen? Why not wait for all the others to bitch and moan then when it is all settled down and proven get it for less?
I for one would never buy a first year run of a new car as I know there will be problems and refinement needed to complete the package. Patience is key what ever the price I think.

We are on the same page I think...it's funnie cause I don't fly 3D, I enjoy scale...The actual comment from Roy (my LHS contact) was in effect surprising...but he flies every weekend and has a very nice Align 600 that is immaculate in detail. What I'm saying there is he wouldn't pop off just speculating possibilities of stability...He has conversed with a Blade Rep he knows who has flown one and the opinion was it was more stable than a 120SR and similar to mSR stability...there was no mention of platform...CP CX CP...I will know for sure myself in a week or so...

Roy has a style of comment similar to roundwing here on our forum...he usually gets it right when I take his advise to task...the only hole in what I know is that Roy himself hasn't flown one but his contact at HH carrys some weight because Roy would know how to translate better than I can...I don't have his experience but expect to fly it just fine in my living room on my first attempt based on what I know now...not gonna do that with a 400

Don't get me wrong...I don't expect it is a game changer but I do expect to enjoy mine for a fraction of the cost burden most CP helis carry and fly it rain or shine even if i'm sitting around in my underwear watching a ball game...I don't have a heli sim and I don't want one...thats what I like about this hobby...it's real. I can see how the direction of the mCP X could be an alternative to a sim learning how a CP heli responds and personally I think it to be a potentially better experience

Not saying either it's a beginners heli...an mSR certainly could be...

BTW I do have Call Of Duty Modern Warefare and play multiplayer all the time...but that's a lil off topic...just sayin I'm not against sims at all, I'm certain they are fine tools to learn to fly...I just like doing things the hard way and RADD is good discipline that a sim cannot reproduce IMO...

You guys are so busy speculating about how it will fly or surive a crash, I just want to know if the electronics are any good. I have the 120SR, and I LOVE it when it flies, but it isn't at all reliable.

Tail motors dying after 6 flights and now a power problem that is probably related to the 5 in 1. I would like to get this heli if I had some confidence in the quality and reliability, but right now I think I'll wait and see how well things go for the early adopters.

My 120 is stone axe reliable...i have about 75 flights on mine including a crash...ha, more like a face plant at 30mph...cracked canopy on that one but still kept on flying that day no problem...

Agreed on electronics...flybarless and 3 axis gyro will certainly test quality if it performs...obviously I am betting on a high score here.

Yeah, a lot of people had good luck with them. I haven't even crashed mine and have to work on it all the time. I think there are some problems with more recent batches that maybe people weren't having before, but I don't know.

If this turns out to be a reliable heli it will certainly be a great training aid, the 120 sure is.

A family member also just got a 120 a couple weeks ago...he has broke some parts but he also is trying to fly in 10+ mph wind...(lives in okla and always windy)...so far he is pleased with his...the electronics are way better than some of the Walkera's he has, which is a shame because the build quality of Walkera is not all that bad but cheap electronics kill any heli's potential...he also only has analog radios so he's kinda stuck with the factory settings...still flys ok.

I also have the 120sr and have literally put about 35-40 batteries through it with absolutely no wrecks and it flies awesome.. The ONLY thing I have to do is trim it three clicks to the left rudder when the battery is fresh and click it back 2-3 right rudder as the flight time counts down.. I believe people must fly the MSR to be fully proficient with this heli or you WILL wreck it 10 times more while learning at first.. I was almost depressed it was not more difficult once I started flying it.. LOL
