Dx6i Elevator stick problem (probably simple)

On the moniter screen my elevator stick goes from 26% (at rest) ALL the way up to 30% and ALL the way back down only to 25%. It is a very limited range. The entire movement of the stick only takes it 5% through the bar.

Needless to say I cannot fly any copters this way... I checked all my travel adjust and expo and it seems zeroed out.

I did take it apart once to fix the trim tabs.

Did I mess anything up?

All other channels on the monitor seem to work properly (50% at rest) goes down to 20% then all the way up to 80%.

Am I doing something wrong?

I admit I am quite new at this

Another piece of evidence: I was able to get it working normally again by smacking the transmitter

but after a few minutes of flying and jostling the transmitter around the range of movement of the elevator was once again down to 5%

ALL THIS TIME i thought i was a bad flyer, now I just realize that this transmitter is broken

Sounds like the pot is bad... Time to send it in for repair, or upgrade.
