Thanks heaps for the advice Mike. Pilot hole is obviously the way to go, I don't have a "reamer" but I will find something suitable to enlarge it slowely.

My purchased was delayed 3 days from Processing until shipped, then with 3-4day (minimum) express delivery to Australia, I don't think I will get it by the weekend - which REALLY @#$#@ cause its a long weekend and plenty of days put aside for continuous flying.

Fingers crossed for tailwinds on the EMS airplane

For not touching the sticks in 9months and little to none SIM time, I am feeling pretty darn good getting back into it and the rebuild was awesome - not a single vibe, no tracking issues. An awesome confidence booster just in the rebuild being tidy.

Unfortunately my previous DIY fiberglass canopy didn't really survive the crash so I am back to the stock (also damaged) white one but its terrible to see. I found this thread and it looked hot so I have purchased two of the Hobbyking Canopies (really hoping they arrive before the weekend). I grabbed the additional Yellow one as I am really chasing solid visibility until I fine tune my orientation skills.

PS. Swarm links etc as below.

As recommended, I also grabbed the Align Trex600 Canopy Mounts from a LHS as they were very reasonable and HK didnt see to have either Align or Clone of it.

What I failed to properly research \ clarify before placing all the orders - can someone tell me if i need to now go and also source the "grommets". Looking at the pictures, from the links above - it doesn't look like grommets are supplied or even the "holes" are drilled?
your links are exactly the same. I clicked on both of them and they are both 12.09.
not sure what a swarm code is, but the price didnt change at all.

Fitted the Align TRex600 Nitro Mounts (Part# HN6108T) tonight. I specifically got this one as they come with a bit of M3 "threaded rod" rather than a M3 Bolt. This is important as for awhile now I have been using the Gaui mounts with a Gaui CNC frame spacer to stiffen it all up and reduce "stress" on the small carbon fiber frame standoffs with pulling the canopy on\off 20 times a day.

Here is an old crash picture to show what I mean. Ignore the obvious damage and the older Gaui Mounts.
It may not work for a Hard 3D pilot that needs the some massive swash range as it may touch the "spacer" but I have found I don't even come close with the swash \ swash balls.

The "Swarm" stuff is explained a bit higher in this thread, post #6 by Jack2010.
Basically if someone buys something, it can sometimes get a little blue "buddies" icon next to it. See the picture in Jack's post to see what I mean. I guess like word of mouth advertising for the internet, if you promote it to your "buddies" you get a reduced price.

I checked my links and I notice that if I close all my internet browsers and am therefore not logged in as a HobbyKing Cyustomer, then just click the link in this forum, I also get the standard $12.09 price.

Can you try first logging into HobbyKing, then manually copy and paste the link into your browser session or Tab where you are logged in to HK. Doing it this way - definitely gets me the reduced \ SWARM price of $11.34*.

Mike and others,
Can you advise if you have the standard Gaui Carbon frames \ battery mounting with these aftermarket canopies?

My battery setup is 2 x 3S -- 3300 mah Nanotech's (45c-90c), 1 mounted on top, 1 mounted inside the frame with the canopy mount "pin" on the bottom.

The underside of these Turnigy canopies don't seem to be "long enough" to pick up the canopy bottom pin style mount point.

If I REALLY force it, it can pick up the bottom pin mount - however this is really squashing the top mounted 3S battery pack.
