Default Maiden today with Beastx went flawlessly

Awesome maiden today! thing is rock solid even with 25 MPH winds today

I'm not used to my helis being this sensitve.....it reacts to every slight input but not in a bad way.

I can see upgrading my 700e to a Beast real soon!!!

Nice! I want FBL but I think I'm going to wait and see if I get a bonus and build my Rave 450 FBL.

If I had my ice 50 strapped to the bottom like that, I'd find a way to smash it straight away. Of course that's my luck though. With that KDE battery plate there's plenty of room under the tray.

I had my satellite receiver in the same place your ESC is and it almost got crushed when my landing gear broke. Keep us posted on the maiden. Have fun…
Chris.

Strap it higher up the side to protect it.

Do you need to strap down the Beast like you did?

First flight make sure swash is level before you pull it off.... control check slow return to center is normal for swash but make sure level before liftoff.... gl!

I found performance better with it strapped down firm, but I have no idea what other people do. I always worry about gyros flying off the pad when inverted.

BTW: I got rid off the KDE mount, found vibration being transmitted from the anti-rotation pin into it. The slot was too large and being made of metal probably made the vibs worst. Mine flies much better with the original stock plastic.

Tell us why it is better, I have the exact same set up waiting to be built, but my FB helis are still flying fine, what is the main difference?

for one there are only 4 links above the swash compared to a ton on a flybar head, which means less things to preflight and replace when they get worn out, FBL heads generally have less slop, or at least less places for slop to develop, they look more like a real heli.

I didn't get into flight characteristics because that is really up to the person flying to decide how they like it, FBL or not

Yup - so much easier to put together and less to break too

I still have a FB 700e and 550e. The way the FBL flys is quite a bit different....just so crisp and rock solid. Felt even more stable than any of my FB helis...absolutely love it

OK, that is what I'm looking for, how it flys compared to FB. I know the benefits of less parts, I could care less what it looks like.

Better in the wind? Tracks straight through loops?

Way better in the wind. I haven't tried any loops but the roll rate is way quicker than a FB bird. Rolls fast and you don't really lose any altitude since the rate is so quick.

Love it man and so will you

Ya the pros, better in wind and tracks better through flips, rolls, piros and combinations them. The one big con is crashing can take out servos way easier. Still it feels so much more locked in that I don't care and never going back to FB.
