That is user dependent... I like to use 14 inch "zip ties" Some guys like to use heavy duty Velcro. Bert didn't like the zip ties, so he added 3M outdoor double sided sticky tape! the gray stuff.

Snjbird, how much would you charge to make a case that will fit a iCharger 306b and 2 of the feathermerchant 12v47a power supplies?

Like I said I pretty much get $200.00, but you have to provide the case. I have a place I get them online for a pretty good discount, so I can order you one.

I'll provide everything else, wire, HS, the Acrylic, paint, a sticker, fan ( if necessary), PSs, and plugs, and Banana jacks. If you are just doing the one charger this case here, the iM2100 is perfect...

Just so folks know now nice these high power chargers are... I parallel charge my four 6s5000mah lipos with my iCharger 306b (from storage level) in 25 minutes at 30A. So that eqautes to 6.25 minutes per pack.

So.. A/C power supply or deep cycle batteries.. the charging setups are great!

What kind if charger? It's possible to bolt Hyperion chargers to the plexi without taking anything apart.

I use 4" strip of "Industrial strength" Velcro, you can get it at HomeDepot
or use 2 strips of 2"

Where do you get the plugs for the side of the case so you can use a computer power cord and plug and unplug it? What are those connectors called?

Also how are you guys mounting the plexi to the Pelican cases? Did you buy the bezel kits from Pelican? They are real expensive foe just the bezel kit.

Thanks,

Norman Ross Jr.

The plugs that mount to the case are from an electrical supply shop in my area, I mount the Acrylic a couple of different ways. I have built wooden frames under the Acrylic.

and I have used a small piece of Aluminum angle with aviation nut plates riveted to the bottom, and screwed threw the side.
You can kind of see the angles in this photo...

That is kinda where it's at right now. I really need to charge more because so far every job has been custom. I spend a bunch of time just try to sort out What the customer needs, and how I am going to accommodate those needs. Where if it was more of a single design, I could just bang out 10 of the exact same case and PS and be done. I'll bet I could build 10 of the same in the time it takes to put three custom cases together

Well I better get to work, cause I have three cases to build

Here's a shot of mine in action. I normally don't charge at home, but I'm not going to get to fly for a while so I'm throwing a storage charge on all my packs... Then I need to run my new Voltz through 5 times.

The bottom box is my transmitter... Makes a good shim.

For you guys that have "charge only" cases, how do you transport / store your batteries? In a separate case?

snj...

Just set up a boiler plate for a single and double charger setups using either 12 or 24V PS

Try to make universal for what ever chargers you see being used the most...

and anything beyond that you call it custom and add a service fee accordingly..

I'm sure that a standard hi output setup will do fine for most....

The MEGA units are for crazy folks (like me)

Store in battery bunkers, transport in Common Sense RC Lipo bags.

Norman, Vadim had a very cool idea to use one of these outlets instead:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004YUKT

That way you can use a regular extension cord of any length, rather than computer power supply cords which you might forget, and tend to be short. I think I may get one for my case too.

Jason, do you have a photo of how you did this? I don't have the charger in front of me, but I don't remember screws on the outer plastic ridges. Are they under the rubber feet?

So, are the Black & Decker devices in the lid inverters? What purpose do they serve?

That is a great idea and very solid thinking. I am going to order some.

Better to just run the extension cord straight from generator to box rather than extension cord to pc power cord to box. Like you said, forget cord and you are hosed.

Thanks guys.

That is exactly how I came up with the idea, I kept thinking of a universal plug and it hit me. This will allow me to use different cords for different charging situations... Mine should be in tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to finish my case.
