This will be my first RC plane. I understand the Arrow is more capable, but its also more expensive. And the Alpha is supposed to be a little easier to fly.
If I buy the Alpha, in the future can I buy the Arrow wings and install them on the Alpha? If so, will an Alpha with Arrow wings behave the same as an Arrow? Thanks so much! |

My opinion, get the Arrow. It doesn't just fly a little better, it flies a lot better. It is still nice and docile for learning but it will carry you much farther. You will outfly the Alpha 40 quickly and then it's time to spend more money. With the Arrow you can fly upside down and it cuts through wind better. It has a semi-symetrical wing with moderate dihedral verses the flat bottom wing and high dihedral of the Alpha.

If you can fly a heli you CAN fly a plane. Get a BNF foamy, cheap to fix after a crash and durable . . . . we like durable
