Default Can we get more feedback from Pro users?

Right, my LHS is getting the 600Pro FBL in this week, but I'm still abit torn about what to do and get. Seems many fancy larger packs, around 3700-4000mah mening I will have to buy new packs just for the Pro. I'm not gonna go 600Pro if it means getting new packs, and still ending up with 3,5mins of flying. Thats why my old 600 has been a shelf queen for 2 years now. Also, there seems to be some tail issues, but OnTheSnap seems to have sorted that out for all of us by using 105mm tailblades (thanks alot for all your post on the Pro OnTheSnap!).

I would love to hear from more Pro users, how are you enjoying your heli, and what flighttimes are you getting with what battery packs?

Same here, the thing looks great with some good opportunities for modding and the performance is def there, but it's 1.2k to get everything running :/

What's this I heard about running the older ESP OWB setup while returning the original gearing ratio?? Just hearsay or is there some merit to this.

The ESP OWB is prone to locking up for no apparent reason. The 600 Pro's OWB looks to be an improvement.

So long as you deal with the tail rotor speed issue, the new 600 sounds like a winner.

I've heard of the issues with the OWB. If that's truly the case then I might have to cook up some gears that don't require you to run LOL headspeed. Getting them made and cut wouldn't be that hard actually.

Not having looked hands on at the design Align used, if someone with the kit can chime in on the feasibility of fitting older th count gears I'll ask around BLDG 5 tomorrow. See about cadding one up and getting it RP'd.

LOL! You'd probably make a small fortune selling them.

Received my 600EFL on Friday, completed the build on Saturday!
1st test flight on Sunday, motor stopped in flight. Forgot to change my linear throttle curves to flat 30, 70, and 100, for fixed governor mode. No, problem, it auto'd nicely until it spooled back up.

Several flights Monday, to get my Expo and D/R dialed in.
It's flying great, stock out of the box, with no tweaking of the 3GX, set to Normal mode.
Stationary flips, stationary rolls, tail slides, fast forward snap rolls, fast backwards snap rolls, fast sideways right to left elevator snap flips, piro flips and funnels.

It's a solid performing heli for me, governed at 2200, and have not experienced any tail blow outs.

Getting 5 minute flights on year old 3300mAh 30C Blue LiPo, with 34% left at end of flight.

Thanks alot for that review, and 5mins on 3300mAh packs sound sweet! Nice looking hangar you got there by the way

The pro is awsome! It has many new innovative features for Align and performs flawlessly. The 3gx is great too, stock settings right out of the box without even going into the programming. Much better than the original 3g.

So fare only BlackTitanium has given some good feedback on this, what I'm looking for more than anything is overall score, and flighttimes. Local hobbyshop got the FBL version in stock just now, but I'm holding on until I hear some more about it. My biggest concern is short flighttimes and battery abuse. Would love it if some more pro users could chime in with a short review.

I picked up my kit wed from the lhs and it should be ready to fly by sunday. The build is going fast and if you've built big align helis before then you hardly even need the manual. I just have to finalize my electronics layout, setup, and fly. Click image for larger version

Flight times in the range between 5min (hard flying + tick-tocks) and 6 min (sportflying). Very powerful heli and you won't hurt the packs because you cannot pull high amps because it's a high volt 44-50V system.

I love it ! I also like the 3GX alot better that the old 3G. it feels locked in. I am having my ESC come down alot hotter then I am used to , so I am tweaking that. I bought this to have a more nimble Heli over my large 90s . Out if the 7 helis that I have , I think this is my favorite. Its big enough to see WELL !

Built mine thursday. Only have 6s atm so I can't comment on the normal 12s setup. Build quality is great, but throw the 105's on the tail + rake the tail boom up a bit and you will never blow that tail out.

Currently looking into fabricating a separate gear ratio set (<3 5 axis cnc) although I remember seeing something about there already being a set like that in the align parts catalog.

Default flight report

I experienced my first 4 flights on the new 600pro today. Over all I'm very happy with this heli. I'm running all stock kit with radix 95 tails, voltz 3300's, spektrum sats on the 3gx, and running set rpm at 2350 on the cc gov. I started easy with some half piro flips, rolls, and some fff and beat on it progressively more as I got comfortable with it. The new 3gx is vastly better than the old 3g especially the tail performance. I started out at +38 in my dx8 gyro menu and reduced it to +35 while increasing rudder travel to 110%.Piro's very consistent, and stops where almost violent on the mark (perhaps I can slightly lower the stop gain in the software).

The power and agilty of this heli is very surprising and was more than I expected stock out of the box. Cyclic responce at 60/60 swash mix on ele and ail (about 9.5 degrees) yields very quick flips and rolls while the 3gx feels a little more responsive around center stick than other fbl systems I've used. FFF tracked well and the heli is a rocket. Tic tocs are so fast I had to adjust my collective from what I'm used to or I was climbing altitude inadvertently. While it was not my mission to blow out the rudder I did throw around some fast funnels, big tail slides, and lots of blatant stick banging and the tail didn't miss a beat.

First flight I timed at 4 minutes and charged back aproximately 2080mah into both packs, so I turned my timer up to 4:30 which should keep me under 2600mah during my flights.

The best features of this heli compared to my 700e would have to be the battery tray and half the charge time for my packs. It's definitely a snappier machine but doesn't have the presence of the larger 700's. I'm sure this heli will grow to be a favorite of mine.

From the field today:

Hi everyone, I would really like to know how much the new 600e pro weight in order to fly, It means with batteries and everything included?
Is it a lot heavier than the old 600ESP?

Thanks

Mine comes in at 3.9kg, which includes 1.1kg of Lipos. AFAIK the average 600ESP is lighter.

My AUW is 4120 grams with 2x Rhino 3700 batteries and 2SLipo for electronics. I think I can little lighten it with BEC but this is ONLY about 50 grams when Align 2S is 102g and CC BEC is 60g.
