You might get more response over on RCGroups.com. That's where the Chaos crew tends to hang out. I have a Chaos 600 that I am building but have not looked at the 700....yet.

Tell you what, you send your rain down our way and I will be happy to spend a few days on the sim. We Texans are cool like that, oh wait maybe because it has not rained anything worth mentioning in about a YEAR!!!!!!!

Hi everybody. I just received a barebones Chaotic 700e kit and the build is underway. The only thing that might hold it up is the Castle Creamatorium...I might have to wait awhile for a 120hv. A Scorpion HK3-4035-500 will be installed for starters.

Thanks to FlyinHigh450 and the rest of you for your feedback that helped me decide on a Chaos. The quality is as you all advertised. I picked up a KDE universal motor mount and the 3rd bearing block kit. Earlier today when I had the frame ready, the mainshaft dropped right into all 3 bearings with absolutely no effort...perfect fit.

For the tailboom, how did you all place the 3 tt bearings? I know they are not supposed to be evenly spaced, but is there a right way to do it? The Rex manual only shows 2. I am a bit concerned about the drag of 3 bearings in the tail drive train.

I'll be heading over to RCG tomorrow (SerVoid) to formally requisition a crew-vatar!

awesome! and the tail baring i spaced about 6-7 inches apart. and with the 3rd bearing in the tail actually keeps the tail shaft from twisting even more in flight such as hard piro stops or agressive tail manuevers. the bearings included in the kit are very high quality to say the least and does not create any more drag than 2 bearings in the tail. the rotor already has so much mass and speed built into it its impossible to notices the diffrence. And for the avatar contact allspunup and he will get you one as he did for all of us. I really Hope you enjoy your chaos and please bring feedback to us as much as possible. if you find an issue in the kit or have any questions please refer here and we will get you going again!

On the bearings I place the first one dead center and on the outer 2 I placed them about 7-8 inches off the center trying to get them evenly spaced.

Mattox, from your avatar I wonder if you realize thats a Chaos 700 and not a flying V.

just pulled a trigger on my chaos 700e flybarless. setup is gonna be

kde 700xf
castle ice2 120 hv
beastX gyro
savox brushless servos 2271 and 2272 for tail. wicked fast.

going to be a killer set-up. still debating if i want to use separate RX pack or BEC. what do you guys think?

Sound's like a killer setup..I have a 6.6V LiFe pack which I love because you don't need a BEC and no worries at all about loosing power, less wire's also which is a pluss..

Harvey
I have some notes written down and a little process that I follow on the BeastX setups after doing a few of them. It may save you some time. Let me know if you want me to send it to you.....
