Default 550 in phoenix

Does anyone here use phoenix sim and fly the 550e 3g? I was curious how it flies compared to the real one, if so have you tuned it up to fly like the real one?

Its pretty close, I have my 550 pitch set a little lower to tame it out a bit. So I normally use the 700 3g model on phoenix which is real similar to the way mine fly's in real life.

Are you using a USB adapter to your trainer plug so that you are using the same transmitter when training?

Anybody else have odd problems with the tail on the 550E in Phoenix, when doing extended piro maneuvers?

Same here when doing extreme maneuvers requiring high tail performance. Not nice, but can be fixed if you play a bit with the model parameters.

Best regards,
Simon

Change the tail fin area to that of the T700e. It fixed all funky tail behavior for me.

thanks... would be very happy to get this working, as the 550 seemed to fly pretty close to real.

Yeah I get tail kicks in funnels. I will have to try your fix. IMO The sim is not the real thing, but it's close enough to save you a lot of money. The biggest difference is knowing when you crash there is a reset button, so you will fly more aggressive on the sim.

Problem nearly disappeared when I adjusted the "tail power tuning" parameter in the "fine tuning" menue to 150%. But I think there are different possiblities to fix it.

Simon
