Has anyone actually used one? Keen to know more about it, very little info around.

I noticed revmax hobbies is selling them for $189, seems very cheap compared to other similar 3axis gyro's, does it mean they are a cheap fbl system and should be avoided?

That isn't much cheaper than the beastx which is a proven system. The beastx can be had for 199.

I'm keeping my eye on the reports, at least when there are some.

I´m installing a GT5 to my fbl MSH Protos.

At first that touch "button" felt a bit strange, but one gets used to it fast and then it is the best!

I guess there are not many who have experience with this unit..

I have a couple of problems:
1. When I connect battery to Bec, rudder servo drives to one end and stays binding until GT5 has booted up. Some setting wrong? I set travel adjustment so servo does not bind in normal operation. It does this only when connecting power.

2. Swash menu, trying to adjust collective and ail/ele pitch. Collective adjusts ok, if I move stick to full positive pitch and change the value, swash moves and pitch changes. Ail and Ele - swash tilts if I move stick but fbl unit adjustment does not seem to move it at all.

3. If I increase total gain (from transmitter) amount of swash tilting in ail and ele- directions increases a lot when moving the stick. So much that servos are binding.

Must be something I´m not getting right now..
I can setup microBeast, miniVbar and CGY750.

A little follow up.

1. TT has seen this happen with some cheap servos. -> try a big brand ($$) servo.
Ok, so I tried with Futaba S9257. Problem is gone!

imho, cheap fbl controller should work with cheap servos.
Microbeast, Vbar and CGY750 all work just fine with that emax ES9257..

This one has disappeared from Tower for some reason.

Yes, it does work. My PC at work was doing strange things. Wish we would hire a real IT person, Jeez. Anyway, just ordered one from Tower. We'll how it works.

Cheers

I received mine a few days ago from Revmax in Oz ($189AU - about the same US atm..) - looks really sweet..

Anyway - havn't had time to fit mine yet but a friend has one fitted to his new Raptor G4 and I had the chance to see it fly today doing some hard Smack 3D..

All I could say is "WOW"... this gyro is going to give vbar a run for it's money.. seriously..

It performed flawlessly over very hard stop maneuvers.. Tail didn't falter once and cyclic crisp and locked... piros were dead flat and smooth...

Can't wait to try mine now..

Ok just an update, I got everything working fine now and this unit is excellent I was flying a in really strong winds and it flew amazing. So easy to change settings love it. I have a mini vbar, beastx and align 3g in my opinion I think this unit flies a lot better, especially for the price and the amazing display.

There is a negative though it does take a while to master the double tap sometimes it works constantly for me and sometimes I find myself constantly tapping to get it to work.

Yea - I have the same issue with the double tapping but it works eventually - lol

test mounted mine on my tarot pro - cyclic was fine - had tail issues and it blew out doing a rainbow - had to rebuild my heli but in all fairness the tail on my heli is very sloppy so not fair on the gyro..

will play more and see how it goes..

oh - have changed it a bit. so don't have the exact settings..

Basically most were default except for about 10% higher gains..

Tail (HK15158A) was 1520 @ 333 - but my slider has massive slop.. has seen a few hundred flights by now and time for a replacment I think..

Cyclic (HXT900) 50hz or 60hz works fine..

at default settings I found the heli really hard to fly hard. I had to turn gain up to about 80 on swash and about 70 on the tail
