Default 560mm blades??

I accidentally picked up a set of rotortech 560mm blades, instead of the 550mm.

1) I've read the reviews and with the stock tail blades the consensus was mixed if the stock tail blade length was ok. Now with 560mm is this ok or should I just change it??

2) can I have definitive feedback for the stock electronics with 550mm and 560mm blades? I do have an external bec.

Many thanks

??? The stock main blades are 520 not 550? The 520 are what are in my kit.

You will need to use shorter tail blades to keep the tail and main blades from hitting during 3D. You may also need a smaller pinion. Going from 520 to 560 is quire an increase in disk area so you won’t need as much headspeed for the same lift.

...and do not run the 560mm blades on a 17t pinion with the stock ESC.

Definitely 85mm tail rotor blades. I run the 84.5mm KBDDs on the tail with the Edge 553's main blades on stock 16T pinion.

Flys like a banshee .... but very stable!

You actually have better blades there. The 560s are higher performance 3D blades than the 550s.

I agree those are excellent blades. I have a set on a non Trex helicopter and they do have fantastic performance.

Ok, so I think the consensus is shorter tail blades.

How bout the stock align esc with the 560? Will the higher load of longer blades be too much for that esc? Note I'm no 3d beast, just learning to fly right now. I intent for bigger blades for the more stable feel.

Many thanks

When I went from 500s to 550s I started really heating up 75 and 80 amp ESCs. In the summer my 80 Amp CC Phoenix would shut down on me. I was really only sport flying at that time. I went to an CC Ice 100 and it comes down cool every time no matter how hard I fly it.

Hi Chilling,
Where you flying in Sg ? When I bought my 550, the first thing that I did
was to replace the Esc with an CC Ice 100. So far the CC Esc has been
working good for me. Have not utilize the Gov mode so can't comment on
that. With longer blades perhaps you could go with the smaller pinion &
take it from there.
