6S is definitely awesome, may be difficult finding a used 450MX 1700kv motor though, don't see why anyone would want to sell it. I have seen guys fly radix 350mm blades with the DFC and it seems to work fine, I was thinking about trying it myself but $16 for align 3G blades vs. $50ish for 350mm radix.....nah.

I have my 450 6s since the last season, I still very like it, now some guys at the field have converted their 450 into 6S .

Two of it have the Align 1700kv, seems to fly very similar to my scorpion 2010.

Thank you. I just ordered a black DFC head. I was seriously contimlating the Tarot head, but I ended up going with Align. I like the Tarot head better, but I always have re-sale in my mind during purchases and Align sells better.

Can't wait to fly the 450 in new trim. It should be like a new helicopter.

How about the best place to buy the 450mx 1700kv. I see it on eBay for $47.99 delivered. Anywhere else cheaper (delivered, and with tax if in CA)

Thank you. Unfortunately it comes to just over $50 with shipping. I don't think I'm going to be able to beat the eBay price. I've been casually looking for a cheaper 1700kv 450 size motor for about 3 months and have not found one used or new (Align or Scorpion) I think I'm going to just pull the trigger on the $47.xx one. All the other parts should be coming in next week, so I better get to it.

I honestly think the 1700kv 6S setup should just come standard on the 450 pro now...its just superior to the stock 3S setup in every way.

I have seen the Outrage 1700kv motor cheap some places aswell. Any thought on how it performs compared to Align?

Tried findin out how much power in Watts it produces, but no luck..

Any guys here have experience with ALZRC motor. I am tryin to find out the this 6S 2000kv magnetic pole count of the motor.

It is model RCM-BL450B20 and is no longer listed on thier site.

Well, the batteries arrived so I was able to mod the frame. I cut it down to the strap slot, took out about a centimetre of the battery tray so it still looks stock unless you look close at the seam.

Dfc head setup is next. Should be here on Monday.

I've bought two of this motor at Helipal, they came with a 12T pinion, and I've maidened one 6S Storm this weekend.

My impressions were very good, lots of power with very little bogging, just converted my other Storm to 6S.

The KV is bit high, so I don't think this motor can work well with helical gears (because of their small reduction, that would yield an insane HS). So I reverted my Storms to regular gears.

I, for one, got hooked.

Hey anyone have this setup below , and how does it work with governor or Fixed
I am using the stock ALIGN Slant Thread Main Gear 121T and ALIGN Motor Pinion Helical Gear 12T.

ALIGN 70A Brushless ESC RCE-BL70G
ALIGN 450MX Brushless Motor(1700KV) RCM-BL450MX
Gens Ace 1200mAh 6 Cells 22.2V 30C Lipo RC Battery

I have that setup for the most part, but with a CC ICE 50 lite, and it works beautifully. I still prefer my Voltz 1300mah 6S packs over the Gens Ace.. But I do like the 5C charge rate for the GA packs. I also prefer to use the set rpm governor mode. It holds the headspeed at a fairly constant 3200 RPM.

Nice flying, How do you like the 450mx 1700kv and also have you ever use ALIGN 70A Brushless ESC RCE-BL70G. I got this new with my 550 kit, I really would like to use it. If I don't have to buy Castle ice 50 lite.

The Align 1700kV motor is hard to beat, it has all the performance that I need. As for your ESC, I've never used the 70A.. Only the 35A that comes stock. The 70A will work fine and may not need much time to setup. The only downside to it is the size...

MY 6s setup is pulling 5 amps continuous and 10-12 amps peak. Def no need for a esc over 50 amps.
