Oh ok so this is only for vBar friendly yge's... Ok, told you it was a stupid question. So if you have an old YGE, you just set it on plane fast and be done with that part?

I originally setup my mini-vbar with my YGE100LV and external phase sensor in 5.2.3, everything went pretty good and it worked really well for me. I recently did some ESC shuffleing and now i am trying to configure my 90HV with built in sensor with 5.2.4. With the LV my endpoints were 94/94 using the old config process. Now with my 90HV my low seems to be perfect at 100 or 102. I tried resetting the gov but i still am not able to check my full throttle endpoint with the vbar in stick mode. Whats odd is the YGE's status light does not turn off regarless where i set the endpoing while in stick mode but is dim. On the YGE the amber light will turn off completely when full throttle is achieved. Normally you will see it start to dim when you are almost at full throttle then turn off when full throttle is achieved. If i set the vbar back to Gov mode i can then see and hear it full throttle with my endpoint at 100.

Now the problem i'm having is that my log has tons of glitches in it. I'm not sure what was changed between 5.2.3 and 5.2.4 but it's giving me issues now. Spool up does feel very good even in just plane middle/ plane fast, but i'm not sure what could be causing the glitches now. Anyone have glitches in there log?

I was getting a few glitches, then I put ferrite rings on my WR BEC, then I have zero glitches. Just Gov Start, Gov Stop, and signal lost after motor off.

WAYY cleaner than the Hyperion Phase sensor for me.

Did you install the rings near the BEC end of the wires, or closer to the end that plugs in tot he vBar? How many wraps around each ring did you do?

In my case since the BEC was near the ESC, I put the Ferrite Rings close to the VBar, about 3" away. i did 4 loops around the ring.
Point is you want to "clean" up the signal after it is away from any HV sources,ESC, motor wires, motor, ect.

Default Very Important Update

Joe1l was helping me get the YGE Heli Middle + Plane Fast working properly. So there is a secret we figured out that is CRITICAL to getting it to work properly.

Heli Middle + Plane Fast is really important if you are running a 10Kw Motor, I.E. Xera 4530, Scorp 4525, Scorp 4530, 4535 that have a kick when they startup.

The trick to getting it to work boils down to properly setting Motor Full in VBar Gov II so that the light on the YGE goes off to signal full throttle. It is rather unintuitative in that even though ESC Endpoints are set and 0 Low THrottle, and 100 High Throttle I ended up at 108 on Motor Full and presto, Gov Response is just like Plane Fast.

So I updated the instructions called Ver. 3

Enjoy and Thank Joe1l

Update: This is absolutely Flawless with VBar Gov now that I have the right setup. Power is way, way up. Two things changed it, VBar>setup>Gov II> Motor Full untill the YGE light goes off and 1 tooth more on Pinion(13T) on 700E with Xera 4035 480.

Unboggable at 2050/2150

I highly suggest EVERYONE using an external gov with the YGE check their high endpoint values before flying again. A key to successful setup is understanding how to check your high and low endpoints. The same suggestion goes when using the internal gov. These are critical to getting your motor to starting smooth and allowing the gov enough overhead to compensate for headspeed changes.

to check if your high endpoint is calibrated properly, either remove blades or motor pinion and spool up the heli on the bench using a flat throttle curve of 100--100. Allow the motor a few seconds to get to speed while keeping an eye on the LED on the ESC. This LED will only shut off when it reaches the full throttle point. Before shutting off you may see it flicker then eventually dim out. If you see that the light is still on and your throttle curve is at 100% then you need to go back and increase the endpoint. If the light is flickering or is dim but not fully off, then this is a sign that you are very close (less than 5% away). If you are using the YGE's internal gov then simply increase the high endpoint 1 point at a time till it goes off.

Look in the description of the 120/160. I sent Pete an email saying people are confused
And he assures me all of his stock is VBar compatible

I am actually using a 4035-400 with a 120hv and would say it is very safe. I am not sure what hs you are running but unless it is crazy high i think you'll be fine with a 120hv. I think the 160HV is only necessary when using a special edition 10000 watt motor like xera 4530 or Scorpion limited edition 4535. The std xera 4035 motors should not be pulling crazy current unless they are overloaded or something.

I tried the LED full throttle calibration thing the other day and it flew just awful. I was outside when I did this so I couldn't see the LED very well but I did my best and as best as I could tell, the LED was turning off at less than full throttle.

If led is turning off at less than full throttle you need to lower the Motor Full in Gov II.

The Gov would not work properly in this case as the gov thinks it is increasing power and there is no more power to increase as full throttle is already reached at less than full throttle.

Best done on the bench

That's the adjustment I was tweaking... Motor full in gov 2. I reduced it till the led came on then increased it till it went off again and when I flew it, it was obvious that the throttle range was limited.

Anyway. Flies great how I have it now so whatever.

Is this in Heli Middle + Plane Fast?
