Default Tail blade balancing

I watched the finless bob video on how to balance main blades and was wondering how to balance tail blades. Is it the same just on a smaller scale? Also, what else should I look for when it comes to balancing the helicopter? Should I balance the flybar and paddles?. I am new to helis and am building my first trex 500. I have name brand everything except for blades and just want to get it right.

Same way.... I balance my tail, mains and paddles.

With the flybar itself, just make sure its 100% even on both sides when you secure it... you don’t want one side to be 1 few mm longer than the other.

I don't know about you guys but a balacer will not work on tail blades for me. most tail blades for a 550 / 600 size weigh anywhere from 3 to 6 grams and that is not enough weight to balance on a normal balancer. i wound up buying a scale that goes as low as .001 gram. but I question if .01 gram off will make a defferance.

Balancing the tail blades in the grips and with the tail hub and bearings etc is the way to go. Use the Du-Bro prop balancer.

since I don't have a Dubro balancer I'm going with the crap shoot aproach !! works great ...
first REMOVE THE MAIN BLADES , without saying the tail blades need to be the same weight ! then I spool up and touch the boom by the fin , you will feel any vibration , if I feel vibration I stick a very small pc of tape (1cm x1cm) in the midle of one tail blade , spool it up again and it either is better or worse , if worse add the tape on the other blade.... until 0 vibration
On my Logog 500 my sk720 vib log is 1 out of 10 ...

I use a homemade magnetic balancer. Works a charm.
