For what heli?

I have yet to find a micro servo that was up to the task of controlling the tail of a heli regardless of size. I do have a couple MKS DS95i servos here to test though.

For a 450 get a Futaba 9257 and call it a day.

I have a 401 on my Protos for now,I am waiting on a beast and then I am gonna take it FBL. I have had a couple of servos on it and right now I am using a JR3500G it seems to do a great job.

+1

That's the servo that Futaba includes in their combo. Either that or a S9254 for bigger helis. If you have the cash, you could go brushless with the BLS257.

Any servo larger than the stock B400 servo probably won't fit in the stock location. You'll just have to mount the servo on the boom. You'll need an appropriately sized tail control pushrod if you end up boom mounting it.

Well... the B-400 is set up to accept a semi frame mounted micro servo. I would highly suggest going full boom mounted and running something larger. You can buy a second E-Flite boom mount to move the servo to the boom. This will require the use of a shorter tail control rod though. The Futaba 9257 is a great tail servo that works very well with the GY401.

As 240 said, you can buy a second boom mount since the stock setup comes with one already. Or you can buy the metal upgrade mounts.

+1 on the E4 rod. You get two assemblies and can cut the rods to whatever length you want. You will have to use E-Flite ball links on the ends as the size is B-400 specific.

Most will make their own with a CF rod.

Me, I was cheap when I had the 400 and just put a Z bend in the rod. Worked great for a season. If you do the Z bend watch out for binding, it took me awhile to get it just right.
