Glacier 30c pull harder than gensace 4000.

all the way to the end of my 4:00 flights.

fit great.

at my house in 1 day.

2 of my gensace starting leaking electrolyte.

dug a hole.

buried them.

Is anybody using Gens Ace 4000mAh 60c? They seemed like a decent deal for $84 so I picked up a few at Xheli.

It should fit fine. It has the same width and length as all the 6s GA lipos. Just the stacked cells are 4.5mm taller than my 25C 4000's.

Just get GensAce. Either 3800mah 6s 25c or 4000mah 6s 25c
There cheap and they will do good all the way thru your growing pains. You won't be able to find a better battery for the price

Not sure if 20C is enough pack, but i heard that "SKY" was Gens Ace rebadged. This is on sale, so wondering if anyone is flying these:

http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-sl4000-6s1p-20c-6666.html

I had good luck with "Blue" in the past, but find their C ratings "overstated"...so i doubt anyone is flying these:

Thoughts?

Default Simple mod to fit bigger battery

Hi,

I hope this is not been shared before.. If it's been post before.. Please ignore..But no harm posting again..

Long story short.. to fit a bigger battery

Picture tells the story..

Basically I raise the batt up with 6mm.. It should work with all X5..

I actually just tape it up to test fit.. Works great.. Clear the canopy at all 4 corner of the battery..

I had velcro on the original place.. so all I have to do it apply velco to both side of this platform and it's good to go..

Best part is it's easy to do and doesn't change anything from stock..

Thanks

not the best picture.. But you can see from the shadow how it fit in there

I'm happy with the mod..

Just curious why have a battery fence if the batt is above it?

Howdy yos!

How are Gens Ace packs holding up to longer term abuse in the x5? I've never had anything but good luck with them in other helis but, as I remember, the x5 is finiky about batteries. I killed several Turnigy and Hyperion packs in mine.

Thanks!

I have been using 3800 GA's (I have the mislabeled ones that are actually the 4000's) in my Fusion on 12s for over a year. I get 100-125 cycles a set with little sag until near the end of their life. I handed down some 20 and 30 cycle sets to my X5 and it is eating them for breakfast. Still flying well but the lipos really do not like how you can put the sticks into opposite corners on the radio and have the X5 asking for more.

I am really not happy with a 6s setup. I am coming from a 12s system with the fusion and I really like how kind it is to the power system over all. I am fairly close to going 12s for the X5 and then my lipos should last a long time.

You could go with a pair of 6s 2000 to 2500s in series. Finding an appropriately sized motor in the 400 to 450kV range could be a problem.

Batteries have been harder to find than the motor. Motor will be a scorpion HK 4025-550 on 12 or 13 tooth pinion run with an CC 80 HV ESC.

Lipos have been difficult due the weight of the batteries combined with size.

That motor is also 52g heavier than the 4020-900kV motor. You'll be looking at a seriously nose heavy ship without a stretch.

My bird is already stretched so I think it will accomadate the weight. Not 100% though.
