I had a small conversation with tatortot and decided to got some more fuse holders to put on positive side since their is a small possibility of shorting to case. Better safe than sorry. Thinking of making some grommets with holes also for banana connectors to reduce something falling on them and shorting.

I updated and put fuses on positive leads for better protection. Just need to make some plastic or rubber covers for banana plugs. I have labeled 12 and 24v but not in pics.

Here you go geekindenial. Or anyone else trying to find out the pinout for a Power Edge 2650. Check the pic and zoom in. I drew it too small. Connect the red pins and be sure to bend or break away the surrounding pins.

Another approach is to start with a heavy duty plastic tool box that doesn't conduct electricity.

We have a bin of computers and components to be recycled at work. I can take whatever I need. Can I use a power supply from there to run a charger? What do I need to look for?

Yes you can. Search on google for " ATX power supply for charging lipos " or " rc use" or "lab use". Stuff like that. There is tons of videos and sites.

Server supplies are the hardiest

But you sure can use PC supplies too.

I use 2 2650 PSU too, only difference is I floated the DC negative side of second (positive output) PSU. It was a really fun project.

Looks good. I am now doing the same and floating the neg on the pos output psu. I am told the others I made should be ok. I have used mine they other way for many months. But it makes more sense to float the negative on the positive psu.

Now get charging!

I just converted a N750P-S0 to use with my charger, only 12V for now, it's plenty for me.

It was super easy too, the only thing is I have to start charging something real quick or else it shuts off, the charger itself does not draw enough to keep it on, and it will probably shut off after charging also, which means I won't get to see how much went back into the battery.

I've been coming across shutdown problems with this power supply (2x Dell 2650, as shown in previous post). Sometimes when the charge is done and I stop the charging process, unplug battery, the PSUs just shut down. I wonder what the problem is, whether the PSU sees some kind of current surge protection or does it consider current draw too low? Does anyone have the same problem with server PSU?

Found the problem. On Hyperion chargers, I must follow strict connection order from battery to charger:
- Connect charging plugs first, then balancing plugs
- Disconnect balancing plugs first, then charging plugs.

Shame didn't find this in my printed manual, but I did find it on Hyperion websites and many only shop sites.

Hope it helps in case someone come across the same issue as me.
