Hello,
Im just really getting started into this hobby. Before I used to buy RTF helps that came with charger and all. But now Im trying to get a Trex 500 and would like to know which one is the best charger for up to 6s? I have just bought a Trex 250 but a trex 500 is on the looks for near future. Which one of these two is the best charger? Option 1 or 2? Any other options that does not exceed $130?? 1) Hyperion EOS 0606i Li/NiMH/A123 AC/DC Balancing Charger (6S/6A/50W) 2)Triton EQ AC/DC Charger Balancer. Thanks in advance, |

Those are both pretty light duty chargers.
Your charge time will just be longer. With your budget I would look at - http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_pa...&products_id=3 or http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_pa...&products_id=1 Much better power for the money. But you do need a PS or battery to power them. Put $20 more toward it and get this - http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=168 |

Thaks The WoodCrafter!
SO basically the higher the wattage, the faster the charging time? |

do i need to get a balance board adaptor too? or is it included?
also is the iCharger 208b an 8cell charger and the 206b a 6 cell? The price for them are the same so should i just get the iCharger 208b, so that if i ever need to charge 8 cell in the future I don't have to get a new charger. |

I am sure the 206B has the balancing connections in the side of the charger so NO you don't need a balance board.
You are right about the cell count for the 206 and the 208. When I bought my charger I got a 6 cell because I know if I ever fly something with a 10S or a 12S they will be 2 packs so I can parallel charge them. I fly helicopters and I don't know of any that use 8S packs. |

Won't the 208b be faster charging than the 206b?
Also how long does it take to charge a 6s Lipo? |

The 208 is 350W and the 206 is 300W, so on a 6S battery the 208 will be faster.
I honestly think you should go with a 306b or a106b+ charger for 6S. The 20 amp models max out the watts before they can hit their max amps when charging 6s. More bang for your buck that way.

Whomprat may be right about the bang for the buck.
Watts / dollar are better for the 10A models but they will still charge slower. The 20A models require more then 18V input to get the rated wattage output. The 10A model requires 13.5V to get the rated output. I bought the 306B. Very happy with it. And to answer your question - how long to charge a 6S? You really need to specify the battery size. It will take a lot longer to charge a 6000mAh battery than a 1000mAh battery. |

You need batteries that can be charged at 5C for that speed.
