I'm not surprised. If they have never seen the result of a malfunction, not likely to consider it over the, "wow...that's cool". That's why we don't need irresponsible pilots like this huh?

Wow!

It happened in the Province of Quebec, Canada, during a big Western Festival in September. The municipality that has a population of 4000 attracts around 450,000 visitors during the Festival.

Anyhow, I do not think any country is immune to that kind of behavior. I also do not believe that the crowd is dumber than any others. People just do not realize the danger of a flying RC helicopter.

I'm fairly certain that the guy is insane, did you hear him?

That is gold medal olympic class stupidy. I couldn't watch it all - I was ducking down for those poor unsuspecting folk!

I'm of the view that the average Joe in the street doesn't realise just how deadly dangerous these things are and also how hard they are to fly, if they had any inkling of that they wouldn't be in a hundred metres.

I left him a wonderful comment... I hope he has the intelligence to read and understand it.

I could rant on for hours about this guy but in all honesty anyone stupid enough to do something like this will never understand the dangers anyways.

I even think that a responsible R/C helicopter pilot must call the police if he ever sees that kind of behavior...

Left a nice multi-lingual comment...pitty my French is rusty.

Its a shame he has done this, because he obviously has some brains to be able to build and fly half decently.

More proof for Darwin's theories I feel.

The people watching are innocent potential victims, they don't realize how dangerous these things are.

That was extremely uncomfortable to watch. It could have easily made national news if something happened.....

I am ashamed that this moron is from Quebec. And this was filmed at a festival which i am aware of.

I do apologize for Quebecers. we're not all stupid like this.

Default Nope.

I'm fairly reckless. I'll ride a Harley with no helmet and go too fast. I'll drink beer and use power tools. Those folks didn't realize they were one piece of failed equipment away from dying. One accident like that and people will start passing laws. Wow!

If you do this in the Netherlands, your helicopter would be confiscated and you can come along.

I'd feel uneasy regardless. The sight and sound of 2 foot blades spinning that fast would just scare the hell out of me if they were that close. I guess it comes from a mech/elec background. Like an engine running and putting your hand near it. I've never seen it happen..but I have an idea.

But I agree with you fully. There's an unnerving amount of people who will completely mind-blank on things like that.
