Default I feel like a noob all over again

I've been crashing my 450 Sport for about two years now (some flying, too) and I can rebuild it with my eyes closed. But I've decided to build a 550 FBL this winter so I've been doing my research on this forum. My head is swimming! I feel like a noob all over again. Sometimes I think I'll never be able to get this thing off the ground, but then I remember I felt the same way with the 450 and that turned out ok. Eventually.

Anyway, just introducing myself and thanking everyone in advance for all the help I'm going to need.

Good luck with the build.

You'll definitely want to be doing more flying than crashing with the 550E.
Unless you have deep pockets $$$.

It's much easier to fly a 550 than a 450. I think you will really enjoy it.

I wouldn't worry, I used to crash my 450s all the time, the mix of very cheap parts that I kept in stock and a quick rebuild time meant I didn't mind risking it and by pushing my self I leant faster,
I find the 550/3G easy to fly and don't risk it in the same way,It's hard to put into words never mind expain why, all I can say is I wished I got a 550/3G much sooner than I did, yes it costs a lot more when you crash (manly blades) but you crash less so it's not as bad as you first think, is it worth it ? OOOOO yes,

I've been flying my 550e 3g bone stock since last April. I love the thing. My flying has really progessed with it since I started to fly it. I find it much easier to fly then my 450 & easier then my 500. So much so that they really haven't seen the air since I bought it. Even though I don't push myself as hard with it, because of it's better inherant stability, everything is easier for me, really hard to explain. Get one & you won't be sorry.

The turning point came for me when I put Helicommand on the 450s, gained confidence in the Helicommand and the heli, and started flying higher and farther away. Then I was able to start "flying" instead of "hovering and drifting around". But flying farther away it became harder to see the heli, hence the 550.

I'm putting a Skookum on the 550, so hopefully it will have the same sort of self-leveling stability as the Helicommands.

Thanks to all for the encouragement and well-wishes. I can hardly wait to get started.
