As above , In head lock , there is an occasional tail twitch in hover. The head is definitely locked in , but seems a bit flighty.. I've gone through all the adjustments with gyro gain on my DX7 ,and also the delay's and limits adj on the futaba 401. the servo is a Futaba s9257.I've been running between 72 & 75 pc gain on the gyro channel on the dx7. The belt seems at the correct tension, but if its a smidgen to tight or loose , could that cause the problem? ....Funny thing is , this is my second Protos , the other ,being the plastic frame , and its running as smooth as ,with the same running gear. Got to the point of tossing it in the back room and forgetting all about the thing. I've been fiddling with this thing for months , when I could be flying my working ones ..

With the CF frame, may be static with intermittent tail twitch?

It could be that one way is slipping! Same/similar thing happened to me and took me a while to find out what was it all about. Tail would twitch at the beginning of flight (probably until motor/motor's shaft get warmer and expand just enough to stop it). Later it would do it more and more and at some HS (while spooling it up) it would just cut off (ESC would lower motor speed to something really low)...
Replacing the one way bearing (motor pinion) fixed it. |

I had a side to side twich on my cf Protos.
1st I found I had static problems so I grounded the boom. The side to side went away some but not fully. I then switched to the thrusted tail and all problems went away. You can start by checking you links and if they are too tight use the provided ball sizing tool to loosen them up. Also your tail servo can be bad. I had a 9257 start going bad on me and made the tail sway side to side. switched it to a BLS251. |

Any binding in your tail?
I had to polish my shaft and relieve the tail pitch links onto the hub. I also resized the links and resized the holes in the forks of the pitch arms.

Yes, in the forks there was some binding. I resized them.

And they have zero binding in them? Resized your balls?

I have zero binding. I used the ball link sizing tool provided with the kit. My tail is locked in and flys flawlessly. I can't do any smack 3d though.
